This is more like a 10 star recipe!!! This was AMAZING!!! I may add some cayenne pepper next time (I don't even like spicy food but I think it would take it up a notch!!! This would be wonderful chopped and sprinkled on top of a Spinach Salad... I can't wait to make it for my kids!!! This is one recipe you must try!!! And, it's Super Easy!!! Thanks Paula!!!

My friend and I have been doing this for years. However I don't use the spice, I twist the bacon for a prettier look and I don't use the cooling rack. I just put them on a cookie sheet. I usually serve these for special ocassions as hor'd'veures around the holidays and in the winter at game night .
Bacon is far too expensive to serve other times.

Very tasty and it was a great hit as an appetizer! I did double the amounts for the same amount of bacon so it was well coated.

This is a very good recipe...almost a little too rich but it's nice for a change. I had to cook regular bacon for about 25-30 minutes, but I was also baking about 12 pieces.
A note to the other reviewers....there is a huge difference between chili powder and cayenne. 2 t of cayenne would knock your socks off!

If I die and go to cholesterol heaven after eating this dish, it will be totally worth it because I will go with a smile on my face. I may never be able to eat plain bacon again (oops, my primary physician just fainted!. Okay, special occasions only then. Saturday's a special occasion, right?

I made it without the chili powder, and it was very tasty. I think the sugar does prevent the bacon from getting crunchy though, but it still tastes very good.
