After reading the negative comments on this recipe my friend and I trotted out to the kitchen to try them. We did NOT melt the butter but creamed it with the sugar. We made certain the peaches were finely cut, we sprinkled cinnamon and sugar on top and they tasted quite good. They were very moist and we thought the next time we make them, we would cut the sour cream down to less than a cup and add an egg - the egg will hold the muffin together better. All in all, the taste was really good.

I am one of the BIGGEST Paula Deen fans on the planet. In fact, people call me "Paula"! I was so anxious to try this recipe after I saw it on tv. What a HUGE dissappointment! They were very dense, heavy, wet and tasteless. I tried one and then tried to feed one to my dog. He spit it out. I had to dump the entire pan out. Please do some tweeking of this recipe, so everyone, that was dissappointed, will want to make it again. I read and re-read the recipe several times to see if I had missed something. I hadn't . That was a real waste of ingredients for sure.

These were a disaster. I doubled the recipe; there was enough batter for many, many more muffins. When I overfilled the muffin cups in one pan, they melted together and came out in tiny pieces when I tried to remove them.
The top finally browned after about 40 minutes, but the underside was so wet I hardly got a single muffin out whole.
The flavor was bland. Not enough peach flavor, not enough sweetness.
And they were so greasy.
Next time I'll cut the butter, add more sugar, lengthen the cooking time, use more peaches, and ... heck. I might as well just look for a better recipe.
Even my dog didn't want the broken pieces.

I have made practically every Paula Dean recipe (cooking and baking and am a huge fan. however, I have never had a recipe come out as awful as this. The muffins are not sweet (perhaps I should have done as the other person reviewing and added another 1/2 cup. The butter (which I love is simply soaked throughout this muffin, the muffin is dense and it almost seems as though there are far too many peaches. (When you go to pop the muffins out of the tins half the peaches stick (even when well greased, maybe I should have used muffin lining cups to keep the ingredients together.
I hate to write a bad review (this is so bad that it is the first time I have ever written a review before but felt that I had to so that no one else wastes their time, but come on Dean's. Generally your recipes are excellent, don't start putting your name on things and endorsing them just for the sake of it.
Maybe the ingredient measurements here are incorrect or something. BUt then again I saw it on TV first which made me look up the recipe. I remember thinking while watching it that Paula wasn't into this recipe but Bobby was.
Paula, just because Bobby made it, it doesn't make it good. Be more selective in the future. Still love you guys though.

After reading the reviews, I decided to definitely add more sugar. So I upped it to a cup and kept the same amount of butter. I added some cinnamon also which I also think helped! 30 mins in the oven they came out nice golden brown and tasted wonderful!

I saw this in TV and decided to make it. Got to just before putting the peaches in and decided the batter was too thick, I could have kneaded it. so I added about 1/2 cup of milk which thinned it out so it could be poured into the muffin tins. I used the large tins and two fresh peaches. they rose beautifully and then fell when I took them out of the oven but they were done and ready to eat. They did leave a bitter, not objectionable, aftertaste so next time I will cut back some on the butter and use canned heavy syrup peaches and maybe some of the syrup.

Did not see this fixed on television, instead I went through recipes to find something special to bake for our family get together and chose this recipe...what a mistake. Awful. I keep re-reading to see if I had left something out by mistake. NO, NO MISTAKE ON MY PART> Had to throw everyone of the muffins away. Tried to eat one....I really did, then out it went. Disappointed since it is a Deen recipe. Really love that Butter

I made these last night with a few adjustments to the recipe. I used 1 stick butter, 1/2 cup sugar, some cinnamon and baked them for 45 mins. They browned well and did not break apart. My family loved it. This is definitely a keeper.

I've wanted to make these since I saw them a couple of weeks ago and was nervous to after reading the reviews. I cut the butte by half a stick and added a little extra sugar as recommended here. I also used a mini muffin pan as suggessted. The result? A hit with the family and I will make them again but will not be calling them muffins. "Peach cobbler bites" is the new name for these deserts that will go nicely with ice cream. I cooked them a little longer until they browned a bit on the outside and ended up with 32 tiny cobbler-esque nummies!

As soon as I saw it on TV today I made it. Checked out the reviews first, not very good, but still went ahead and tried the recipe. It turned out very good! I did use 1 1/2 sticks of butter instead of 2, and frozen peaches (thawed before adding to batter. The batter was delicious and the muffins just perfect. I might add sugar to the peaches and let it marinate a bit next time since the frozen ones do not come in any kind of syrup (you can feel a bit of tartness from the peaches. Very good!
