I want to make this but I have read all the reviews and a lot mention the butter to four ratio being wrong. A couple of people said they figured it out. Could someone please tell me the amount they used?

I gave it a 3 because FN makes you rate it to post, but I actually have a question to be answered by someone who made it following the directions. It seems to me that a total of 8 bell peppers and 4 onions is really alot..did it work out OK or did they overwhelm the rest of the ingredients?

I left off the sauce because I don't eat cheese, and the egg because my SO doesn't like eggs and the TV recipe didn't include it. Use a supermarket rotisserie chicken, 2 potatoes, and 1 onion over tortilla chips instead of frying tortillas and you have a fairly easy dinner for two that tastes awesome. We used seasoned salt, pepper, and old bay instead of the seasoning mix in the recipe because our store didn't carry it.

We did try the recipe as close to authentic as possible and found it way too bland and way too much work!

I visited this restaurant. The only reason it rates a two is b\c I did like the potatoes that was on this dish. Otherwise, it was not good. It needed seasoning really bad. I asked for a little extra cheese and they gave it to me in a container that was not spill proof. As I wondered why would someone do this and its cheese. Well, the cheese was cold.

One cup of flour to a half stick of butter for a roux is just the wrong ratio. I knew this before I tried it and sure enough the cheese sauce with the four cups of cheese and all that flour turned into roof patching material. I'll probably make this again but this time I think I'll follow my own instincts when it comes to making a cheese sauce.

This recipe definitely is NOT one of those things that ain't worth the hassle. It took some work/mess puttig the whole thing together, but after completed, SOOooooOOOO worth it. You have to load your fork up with a li'l of EVERYTHING to get the full effect, but once you bite down on this creamy comfort dish w/ just enough heat counterbalanced by the egg . .. WOW!

Notes: I think the milk/butter/flour ratio is incorrect, but I figured it out. I used chipotle peppers instead of habanero 'cause that's all I had.

I knew the minute I saw this recipe it was going to be excellent and couldn't wait to try it. We saw the episode on Sunday, while we were grilling our dinner and I made it on Monday! I had to tone down the heat in the dish to accomodate my kids so hubby and I had to add ours to our plate. My 9 year old son ate 2 and I think I'm going to have the leftovers for breakfast. I love DDD and am always tickled with any recipe I try from the show. WTG Guy love you and love your shows!!!!!!
