This was good, but I would skip the queso sauce (like in the video and just use a slice of pepperjack cheese. I made my relish with poblano, anaheim and serrano chilies. I also didn't let my onions pickle long enough. Next time I make this recipe, I will follow it exactly. That said, these burgers were delicious and my husband loved them!

Great flavor combination. EZ to put together. The 3 condiments are make ahead (I keep the cheese sauce in my little crockpot or reheat on very low. Adaptable to what's in the frig. One of the few "fancy" burgers my husband likes. That's 5 out of 5! It does make more cheese sauce than necessary, but we suffer through that by eating it on nachos the next day.

I made these burgers for a Sunday summer dinner with friends and they were delicious! I served each burger so I could make it look exactly like the photo, and they did! I wish I had put more of the peppers and onions on the burger b/c they were delicious without over-powering the burger. Would definitely make these again.

This burger was so good. I followed the recipe exactly except for the relish, because I didn't have the hatch chilies. Instead I used two poblano peppers, two jalapeno peppers, and the one serrano pepper. It came out great. I didn't have whole milk so I used cream for the cheese sauce. It was obviously delicious but it would've been nicer to use the whole milk. The pickled onions were amazing. All in all it was such a good burger and I would definitely make it again. My family loved it!

Excellent! Somewhat time consuming but worth it. Next time I will plan ahead and make the relish and onions a day ahead. This is going into "my favorites" category!

Bobby has a tendency to mess too much with a good thing. All you need on a green chile burger is good beef, hot chiles, and a slice of cheese on a decent bun. This recipe was good, but far more complicated than it needs to be. Plus, as someone who's actually had the burger he was up against, this doesn't even come close.

Had never heard of a Hatch or New Mexico Chile and they were not available at the Farmer's Market so I used Anaheim Chiles instead. I accidentally used my poblano in another recipe so had to leave it out. Made everything exactly like he says except I was running behind and didn't have time to pickle the onions, so I just used plain sliced red onions. It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. I did learn to make the queso sauce as the burgers are cooking. My queso was beautifully smooth... until it sat 10 minutes and I tried to heat it back up... then it separated... but it was still WONDERFUL. Everyone at the table agreed it was the best burger we've had in a LONG time and can't wait to make it again!

Hatch chiles were available in my local market so this recipe came to mind. The queso sauce, red onions & chiles combined together to make a fantastic burger. Wouldn't change a thing and well worth searching for Hatch chiles
