This was off-the-chain. I made this as a side at a charity banquet for our church in February. I am still having people walk up to me in stores and comment about how good they were. The apples give a nice contrast to the potatoes. I was a little skeptical about these combinations until I tried them. Awesome Guy! Keep 'em coming!

Different but REALLY good. I used twice the amount of garlic called for and fat free half & half and it turned out great. The roasted garlic is sweet and the crisp, coolness of the Granny Smith Apples just gave the dish whole different dimensions than plain mashies. This was PERFECT with a glazed, spiral sliced Ham & Roasted Asparagus. You should try this with your Easter Ham....everyone will be SO impressed. The potatoes do not need gravy but maybe a little of the pan drippings on the plate and serve the potatoes on top. Thanks GUY. Just about every recipe of yours that I try is top notch. Keep em' coming.
PS.......I just had the left overs last night. A hint here.....don't underestimate or under use the fresh cracked black pepper in this dish. So many people use white pepper or none at all in Mashies. The fresh cracked (and I used a lot just accentuates perfectly the sweetness of the roasted garlic and the apples. I can't get over how much I LOVE this recipe.

I have flagged the review posted on 12-27-10. Hopefully they will take it off before too many others have to read such shameful words. Everyone has different tastes, but their is no need for such ignorance in reviewing any recipe you like or dislike. I appreciate the fact we have this site to try something new! Let's keep it nice :

QUICK AND EASY. IT WENT VERY WELL WITH SOME BBQ PORK CHOPS. I WAS SCEPTICAL AT FIRST, BUT GLAD I TRIED IT. I ALSO LIKED IT MORE LATER WHEN THE APPLE GOT SOFT.

Loved making these mashed potatoes with the Pork Roast. My husband was skeptical on how the apples would taste in the potatoes, so I only used one Granny Smith cut up (fed the other one that was cut up to birds/deer - lol, and we both loved it. The potatoes didn't really need any type of gravy to go on them, but a little of the jus made up from the roast was a nice touch on them too. The roast was awesome. Made up the rub the night before and let it marinate overnight in frig. Love your recipes, Guy! Will have to try the drink you had with this too....

Made these for a dinner with pork - amazing! The apple adds a really nice texture and surprising crunch. They were a big hit. I added a little skim milk to thin them about a little bit because they were super dense.

I served the entire show to company.... the double mustard pork roast, the Adams' Apple Mashed Potatoes and the Green Bean and Feta Cheese salad! The were all fantastic! All easy to make and easy to pre-prepare so you are not spending your company time in the kitchen. My husband was very interested in knowing if it was difficult to make since he is certain he wants to eat all the recipes again! This meal is definitely going to become a tradition in our household and I am certain the potatoes will find their way to other dinners too. They are too delicious to only serve with pork! Thanks Guy!!!
