This was a delicious side dish to a Cuban entree I made instead of rice. My only suggestion is to be sure you chop the plantains fairly well as they take awhile to cook. Otherwise the liquid absorbs too rapidly. This was a hit in my house & definitely a keeper. Thanks Aaron!

Follow the directions and you get a wonderful alternative for potatoes or rice.

thanks for this wonderful dish which reminds me of a puerto rican dish I usedto make . I no longer eat pork however I was able to replace the pork bacon with beef bacon. As soon as I seen it I went and made this dish.

Plantains are actually very similar to a banana, except they are less sweeter and I wouldn't suggest you eating it raw. you should definitely cook it. The ripe plantains are same as ripe bananas. ... You can eat anything raw (and people do. But traditionally plantains are cooked b/c they're plain not that sweet. If you want...

I think the combination of ingredients fits very well only if the dish is bake to perfection.

So why dont you give it a try.And be creative about it.Do you know what I mean like a casserole recipe and why not some nice melted cheese.

bake this dish Well I guest this is it

and like I always say keep on cooking. ha ha ha
