This recipe is fantastic. Though I just combined all the zest together. It was still wonderful

Clicked on Vegan and got a recipe with butter and cream cheese, need a little bacon and lard to go with that!

These came out perfect for me, and I'm actually getting ready to make another batch to send out as a gift and use at our New Years party. Drizzled them with bittersweet chocolate, and this time I'm thinking about putting candied zest on top too. The lime were my favorite, while the orange and the lemon kind of tasted the same. But they were addicting, simple, and delicious.

Citrus is refreshing to the pallet. This cookie was just right. The layer of flavors was surprisingly clean. I thought about dipping and realized, "This treat stands alone, it dosen't need dipping." Go ahead and dip if you want but i take this cookie in all of its tantilizing purity. I am adding it to my favorites.

This cookie has a great taste without the lemon or lime added.Dough was easy to work with. I used a ziplock bag with the tip cut off to bag the cookies out. I did make all three flavors. We thought the lemon tasted the best. I would try a little lemon juice next time too. The lime needed more flavor and I used the zest from 2 limes and it still wasn't enough flavor for my family who love anything lime!

After reading all the reviews I made some changes. Used only lemon zest, used both vanilla and almond extract and added chopped almonds to the better. After the cookies cooled I also drizzled with melted dark and white chocolote. A nice cookie to have on hand over the holidays to serve with coffee and tea. If you try this recipe make sure to space them out on the sheet as they do spread quite a bit in baking. Thanks for a great base recipe Melissa!

My kids and I have been making the 12 days of cookie recipes and this one has been the best tasting by far - a real melt in your mouth cookie. I like the lemon best, but the lime and orange are good too. When the dough was ready, it looked too sticky to roll, but with a little flour, it rolled perfectly, in fact, easier than any of the other cookies we've made so far. I'm surprised so many people had trouble with it - I know I left everything cold (butter, cream cheese before I mixed/rolled/baked it, maybe that helped. I can't imagine piping the dough I had . . . it would have been way too thick. A thumbs up for us!

I made these cookies for our annual mother/daughter baking day. They were alright but not up to the usual standards of the Food Network recipes we usually expect. These are the cookies I'll be taking to work tomorrow for everyone else to eat. I'll save my other cookies because they turned out great.

I have been subscribing to the 12 Days of Cookies recipe newsletter for 2 years and have yet to be disappointed until now. I neededo make cookies for a cookie swap and these sounded good. My first problem was that it was impossible to roll into logs (I printed out the recipe before it was updated. I then tried to chill the dough, but that didn't seem to work. I finally just made them as drop cookies- as others mentioned they don't look attractive after being baked that way and most importantly, they don't taste good. There is something odd about the flavor. My husband, who likes almost anything I bake, called them bland. Not something I want to show up to a cookie swap with. Now I'm stuck with no cookies for my swap, so I am going to have to come up with something else. What a waste of time and ingredients.... very aggravating and very disappointing. Were these not tested by the Food Network staff before they were chosen for the newsletter?

We make a lot of Christmas cookies at our house, and this one doesn't measure up to any that we bake. It is easy, but boring. My husband, who loves almost any cookie, wanted the rating to be one star. He said he wouldn't waste the calories on these. They are certainly not addictive.
