I made my own dough, and these turned out great! I also had to crush the peppermint myself, and that was annoying. Otherwise, there are really yummy!

I also made it once using pre-made dough, and they did flatten, so I highly recommend making your own sugar cookie dough and then making these cookies.

They taste good but look nothing like the photo. Mine came out flat. I even turned the oven down a bit after the 1st batch came out completely flat & crispy. Wish I had read the reviews before -about adding the flour!!!! Still taste good! My daughter loves them!

These did flatten but still tasted very good. I make all of my cookies from scatch but tried these last year due to lack of time and wanted something different...it is store bought dough so lets not compare it to the from scratch cookies. My husband and son ate the first batch and I had to make another. Will try this year some of the other suggestions, watch that the dough doesnt get too warm and add flour. Merry Christmas

Store bought dough used on its own for this recipe will not work. Add 1/4 cup of flour per 16 oz. of premade dough to prevent the 'pancake' problem others have had. Proceed with the cookies as the recipe states. They will spread out a little but still be very fluffy and good. Of course, they wont look like the picture but when does anything look exactly like the picture. All is all a very fast simple cookie that your friends will love anytime of year.

I give this recipe one start simply because it is not an option to have no stars. The consitancy is runny and sticky. When I try to bake them they run all over the place. I am a frequent baker, at least baking something once or twice a week, and i tried the recipie twice with the same results.

Looked simple enough, even for a novice like me.....
But the cookies spread all over the baking sheet, over the sides
    and into the oven!!!!
They were extremely soft when i tried to take them off the parchment
paper, and turned into big gooey globs of gunk!!!
Now I'm still trying to get melted candy out of the oven!!!
    What a mess!
