The person who wrote this one didn't read the instruction correctly. You are to roll out the log to 1/3" thickness, then cut into rectangles. READ before you criticize!

I just got done making the basic recipe - without any added ingredient - and I loved them! I'm thinking of trying the chocolate dip as a previous reviewer suggested, but even if I leave them plain - they are delicious! Thanks!

According to my math, a 5" log cut into 1/3" pieces yields 15 cookies. HOW did someone come up with a yield of 64 cookies??

These cookies are delightful. They are very simple to make, but taste like they took all day! I appreciate this recipe because it does not require any special ingredients and I always have the stuff right in my pantry. I added a bit of vanilla extract for some extra flavor and I had to decrease the cooking time a bit (maybe due to the high elevation? I also had to add abount an extra 1/4 cup of flour (again probably due to the elevation. For some added glam, try dipping 1/2 of the cookies in some melted chocolate and adding some decorative sprinkles or other edible treat! Overall, a yummy holiday cookie!

Reviews should be limited to the taste and difficulty of a recipe. Too many people are hung up on incidentals like the amount of ingredients listed. Claire doesn't count items such as salt, pepper and water because everyone has them on a normal basis. Let's stick to the reviewing the foods themselves.

We're making her Earl Grey version today, the one she had on the show a few weeks ago. Yummy!

Claire has three ingredients that are free: water, salt and pepper. She used water and salt in this recipe. The total minus the free ones equals four ingredients.

I am confused by it name- there are more than 4 ingredients listed. Why does she always do that?
