I made these for my family but added Raisins, dried apricots, cranberries and wheat germ everyone love it.. I tried to make another recipe but everyone asked for me to make this one again,, It's my families favorite.. So glad I found a simple granola recipe. We top pancakes with it and also eat it with yogurt. Delicious..

I read all the ratings and comments and decided I really wanted to try these anyway. They came out fantastic. I used 2/3 of a stick of butter but I didnt melt it, I used room temperature butter and I also used fresh peanutbutter from our local Whole Foods store. I pressed them into a greased pan instead of on parchment paper and I pressed them firmly in pan with wax paper from the top. I baked in our range which is gas for 18 min. I let cool completely and cut them into heavenly bars that we enjoyed for days. I would say maybe not melting the butter or try using room temp butter because they were delicious and well worth time and effort!

Addictive!! I've made this recipe a couple dozen times already!

I only use 1 tbsp of butter and it still tastes great. A stick of butter makes it more like oatmeal cookies, not granola bars.

I also cut the brown sugar to 1/4 cup.

You have to press it down hard while covered with wax paper or parchment paper, then remove it. I use the bottom of a measuring cup (1-cup size. Then bake it for 20 minutes maximum. Refrigerate until cool, cut into bars, and that seems to hold it together perfectly. There are some crumbs, but that's the best part of getting to cut them!

I have gotten my whole family hooked on these bars and they make them weekly! We absolutely love them and can't stop eating them! Surprisingly, we haven't gained any weight. I don't feel guilty eating them after making those small changes.

The recipe was good. I followed other's suggestions and used just 1 T of butter. Partially for texture and partially because, let's face it, this is supposed to be a healthy snack and the is A LOT of butter for such a small recipe. Also I used raisins instead of almonds because my daughter has a tree nut allergy. She loved them and has had one for breakfast, lunch and dinner today!

Actually, I used this recipe as a base. I used coconut oil in place of butter, honey only, for sweetener, added unsweetened shredded coconut and pieces of pretzels for a salty element. I eyeball measured everything so it's very forgiving in that aspect. way better than store-bought and I know EXACTLY what's in it. I will cut back on the honey in the future and for me, it will be just perfect.

My kids love these. I cut down on the butter and add about 1/3 cup raisins and take out the almonds. Also, I cook it about 5 minutes longer than the directions called for, and I let the pan sit in the refridgerator for a couple of hours. They cut into bars perfectly after the time spent in the refridgerator. Absolutely delicious!

they were delicious! the only problem, like others said, was that it didn't stay together,so i crumbled it up and used it as granola instead. the flavor though was fantastic!

These should not really be called granola "bars" since they do not stay in bar form. They are very soft and fall apart after a second of holding them. Very tasty though... better crumbled on to of yogurt or ice cream. These do not travel well and were difficult for my 3 year old to eat.
