This turned out great, but honestly more like a decadent dessert than the side dish with pork chops that I was aiming for. I think it's probably b/c I used canned sweet potatoes since that was all I had on-hand. But, if you're in the same boat, don't be afraid to make this...just be prepared for it being super-sweet! I'll try it again with real sweet potatoes in a few months.

This recipe turned out great. I cut the amount of sugar in half for the mashed portion of the sweet potatoes and it still had a great flavor to it.

Fantastic! If peeling the sweet potatoes, use 6 small-medium size. Also, I added a 1/2 of chopped pistachios to the topping AFTER I baked and people really enjoyed the different flavor. This is DEFINITELY a winner recipe!!!

My son is super picky. I made this for Thanksgiving and what left overs I had, he ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner until it was gone. He, and the rest of the family loved it. I will be making it again for Christmas!

The topping was perfect but will cut back on the sugar in the filling next time. There will definately be a next time!

Hit of the year! This was super easy, and delicious. A couple of tweaks - I used 4c white sweet potatoes instead of 3, and still cut back a bit on the sugar in the potatoes. I will probably back it down a bit more when I make it again - and I definitely will!

This was a really great dish - I added about a pound more sweet potatoes and kept the other ingredients the same to cut down on the sweetness, and it came out perfect.

Yesterday, much to my horror, I couldn't find my famous sweet potato casserole recipe. Being the morning of Thanksgiving and not wanting to go to the store, I had to find another recipe that I hoped would come close and one that called for ingredients I already had on hand. I found this one and WOW, what a hit it was! At first, it seemed there was going to be too much liquid in it but it all came together well and the topping is amazing. The one thing I changed was how the butter was added. I didn't cut it up, I melted it then added it to the flour/nuts, then mixed it all together before topping the casserole. Absolutely delicious and super easy!

We did like the recipe. However, I agree with others... this is really sugary.

In order for me to get the "traditional" looking casserole, I did add some marshmallows to the top. Also, to give the recipe more depth than sugar, I added nutmeg and cinnamon.

    Overall, still a good recipe!
