The only thing(s I omitted was the orange & honey. I substituted regular oregano for mexican oregano but that's it. My family loved it. My oldest daughter loved the Zesty Slaw so much it was gone that evening. Luckily, the head of Napa cabbage I bought was the size of a bowling ball so I made another batch the next evening to go with whatever it was we had.

Making it again today but plan on using beef. Hoping to simulate the barbacoa tacos I get here in Houston at Taqueria Arandas.

I'm just giving this recipe 4 stars because I felt it neorkded some additional spices in the pork (I used chicken since I don't eat pork mixture. The chicken was incredibly tender. It just fell apart when I took it out of the pot to pull it, but flavor wise it needed more spice. The salad was good too, but it needed a little something else, so I added pineapple. Mango would have been great in it as well. The rice was good too. I added cilantro to that recipe. Overall, these were great recipes to build off of. Thanks Pat and Gina!

These Pulled Pork Tacos had wonderful flavor. I also made the Zesty Slaw as the topping. My son and I both loved the citrus flavor. My husband felt both the tacos and slaw had a bit too much lime flavor. He also felt it overpowered the slaw topping. If your not a citrus lover consider reducing the citrus flavors.

I followed this recipe to a "T" and it turned out delicious. Family enjoyed it and all had seconds. The slaw I did early in the day and let it marinate for a couple of hours in the fridge. This seemed to allow that small amount of dressing to fully be incorporated. The rice was mild but delicious also. I did not try the chips and salsa.

I ended up putting this in a crockpot for 6 hours and it was so yummy and tender. Also very easy.

Wow, was this bitter! I didn't even blink when I threw 3+ lbs. of pork in the garbage. Glad it was on sale! To make matters worse the cabbage was also bitter, which I expected. It seemed like it needed more dressing. I was hoping for a sweeter meat to be balanced by the cabbage. Not so. The combo was so bitter, it was not edible. This was probably the worst meal I have served my family. I love pulled pork and have tried various recipes, would love feedback on what I could have done differently. Maybe more sweet (honey to cut the bitter??

Would rate 5 but made a several changes and based on the other reviews it might have really made the difference between a 5 star and a 4 star. First off did not have Pork Butt, so used a Sirloin boneless roast of Pork instead. Also could not find Chipotle Chili Powder, but ground up a dried Chipotle Chili and added to regular Chili Powder. I than seasoned my meat accordingly and browned it in some olive oil. Than I followed the recipe with the following exceptions. I miss-read the recipe and added 2 cups of stock rather than one. ( I think this was crucial as not sure it would have had enough liquid without this? Added one additional lime juiced along with the half?s to the pot. Added one additional onion and 2 more cloves of garlic. Cooked for about 2 hours on 300. When done I removed the meat and shredded with a fork. Discarded the citrus half?s and pureed the remaining ingredients with a hand blender. Added the shredded pork to the pot and simmered until the sauce thickened. (about 20 minutes. Used homemade flour tortillas, and topped the Pork mixture with the suggested coleslaw. Note: Next time I will add pineapple and diced Serrano peppers to the coleslaw. I think it needed something. Regardless, the result was fabulous! I had unexpected company for dinner and everyone loved it! I plan to make again but will try with beef next time! I think adding the citrus rinds to the pot really made an impact so should defiantly not leave this step out!!!!

Wonderful!!! I used chicken also and it was so tender I had trouble getting it out of the pot! I did bake it with the orange and lime rinds and mine was not bitter. I would say it was a little "strong" but I did mix all of the leftover juices into the shredded chicken, next time I will use about half. I did not make the slaw, instead I made guacamole. The rice dish featured in the episode paired well with the tacos. I would easily make this for company, it was very simple, you just have to start it early so it has time to bake. The Neelys are so cute!! So great to see a happy couple!!
