Pretty good! The only thing I did different was added 3tbsp of butter and a touch of half and half in the end, after pureeing the soup. I was glad I did that because even after I put the cream in, the soup was a bit too acidic for my taste. My 5 year old son liked it though, so I'm rating this a 4, even though I wasn't too crazy about it. By the way, it tastes great with the grilled cheese sandwich! Good for rainy days!

I only made the soup because my family has a famous grilled cheese sandwich recipe.. I added cream to my soup at the end before I blended it. I prefer creamy soup. My soup became frothy, but it was still chunky, so I poured it through a sieve. I liked the taste of this tomato soup! I'm not sure if I will make this soup again and that's only because it has to simmer for 30 minutes & I like to eat ASAP. I hate waiting!

I make this all the time! It is delish! I do add heavy cream and basil to it, as I am a big fan of creamy tomato basil soup. My husband loves the spice it has from the red pepper flakes. I also double the recipe and stash some in the freezer for later. Awesome meal for a cold wet day!

I made this very easy recipe last night for my family and they loved. I did make some changes like one of the reviews recommended. I added about 1 cup of diced carrots to even out the acidity of the tomatoes and 2 teaspoons of dried basil and about 2 teaspoons of sugar, and chicken broth (that is what I had on hand I upped the chicken broth about 1/2 cup since I added the carrots. My family loved it. For the grilled cheese, I had to use cream cheese instead of the American cheese (it was all I had in stock, along with the shredded Cheddar cheese and it worked and gave an added creamy effect to the cheddar cheese. The key to the sandwich was using the butter on the bread.

I just made it and lately I've been on a tomato soup/ grilled cheese kick. Rather than buy the canned soup, I figured I could make it and store leftovers. Its so easy to make. I added some heavy cream and fresh herbs and it tasted great. My daughter loves dipping her GC in the soup. Its great! Give it a try!

Cannot believe how simple , but good it was. Made it yesterday, and is even better today. I added a little fat free half n half to it at the end. Next time might try adding carrots as someone else suggested. Will be making again, and again.

My whole family enjoyed the soup. A little spicy so next time I will use about half the red pepper flakes. The best part was that I had all of these ingredients on hand. Instead of grilled cheese I made quesadillas - it was a good combo. Thanks for the great recipe!

This is a GREAT tomatoe soup recipe that's fast and easy! I added a couple of things that i thought would enhance the flavor, though. First, I added a good-sized carrot to the celery and onion (to help balance out the acidity of the tomatoes, and then I threw in some basil (about 2 tsp. I used the frozen chopped basil from Trader Joes, but i'm sure fresh or even dried would be just fine. My husband loved it, too!

This the the best Tomato Soup! It is fast and easy to make and the Grilled Cheese sandwich! Oh my Goodness! The american cheese with Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese is the best! This is now my favorite Grilled Sandwich!. Will not go back to the plain American Cheese. Thank you so much Sandra. You are such a blessing me to and my cooking. My family thanks you! God Bless!
