This is a go-to recipe for a busy week night at our house. The flavors are good, although we don't always follow the recipe exactly each and every time. We cut back the oil and add more garlic each time, however. Great on flavored pitas or on a homemade Indian fry bread too.

My husband hunts so we have venison year round - I used that in place of the ground chicken and we made our own pita bread. I thought it was easy and delicious. Will definitely make again!

I would not have given it 4 stars if I hadn't added the toppings of cilantro, hot sauce and cashews. Without the toppings, I found the filling to be quite bland. I cut back on the oil to 3 tbsp. and ground up a large chicken breast in my food processor and I had to really crank up the heat at the end to get a brown crust on the meat to resemble the picture. Overall, though, the dish turned out to be pretty delicious.

I made this recipe and didn't really know what to expect since it is very different from anything I usually cook. I substituted ground turkey for the chicken and it turned out great. I agree with other posters that the recipe by itself was a little on the bland side, but when we added extra plain yogurt, hot sauce, and cashews for garnish on top it made it just perfect! Kind of messy to eat, and there is a little much liquid (I would maybe halve the water that you add to the yogurt or just add a splash. Will definitely make again--very easy!!

I followed this recipe as listed and I think it needed a bit more spice (more coriander? as overall it was just a bit bland. I agree with the previous review who said it never browned and there was too much liquid. I liked the ingredients but it needed something more. Too me, salting the pita was a bit much and it would have tasted fine without it. Could make again but I will need to make some major seasoning adjustments.

This was SO. GOOD. The only substitution I made was using diced boneless, skinless chicken instead of ground chicken. The flavors are wonderful together and don't skip on the cashews. This will definitely be a staple in our house - no need to go out for Indian food!

Another great recipe, FN. I added a tad too much salt, but that was my fault, not the recipe. I added the cashews (salted and the hot sauce - which put the salt content over the top. Next time if I add the cashews, it will be unsalted and I'll go light on the hot sauce.

Either way, I could still tell how great it would have tasted had I not over salted it. I loved the creamy dollop of yogurt. It helped balance out the salt in the recipe just nicely.

I made this and it's delicious! So easy to make, so quick and tastes so good. Brought it over to a friend who just had a baby and her and her family LOVED it. Will make this recipe again and again...

These are phenomenal. The yogurt and cashews are a must...we've made it over and over since...and handed the recipe out to friends...
