My son and I love to cook together. We really loved this recipe being very simple to make and the taste was awesome. My husband and other kids couldn't get enough. Would make with just about any meat. We also used a light beer and it was great.

I absolutely loved this recipe! I did change it a tad to work with what I had on hand. Instead of stock (which I didn't have handy I used a 1/2 cup of warm water and beef bullion and made a beef broth. I used Michelob Ultra, since this is our drink of choice. The flavor was phenomenal! My children were sticking their fingers in the gravy and saying YUMMMM!!!

Wow! I usually love Rachael and generally have success with her recipes. This was a real let down. How a recipe with beer, bacon, pork, and onions could be so bland, I will never know. And I did follow the recipe as written. P.S.--I also made the parsley paprika potatoes from this episode, and they were tasteless and uninspired as well.

This was a big hit with my boyfriend! Delicious even for me, and I'm not a huge beer and bacon fan! I did however, cut down the beer to 3/4 of the bottle. And I used Warsteiner Dunkle. I think the results really depend on the type of beer you use. This beer fortunately has a mild to sweeter aftertaste, thus no bitter finish. Definitely a recipe "outside the box" and a must try!

This was good..but I used Miller Lite for the gravy and it was not at all bitter. I might also add I cooked boneless fried chicken breast instead of porkchops.

I just made this recipe, followed it exactly to a "T" and the gravy was disgusting. It was very bitter because of the beer, so my advice is to try to find a german beer that cooks well. I will make it again, but with a different beer.

Very good for something different to try, wouldnt be a regular meal. We added more flour to make more of a gravy. We used fat tire beer, was very good when hot, but when started to cool it left a bitter after taste. Overall very tasty dish!

this was pretty good! i did make a few alternations though. i used yeungling beer (a lager i didnt have a bottle but i had a 40z and i used half of that. used chicken broth instead of stock which obviously isnt as full bodied but it worked just fine and i didnt add the onions to the gravy. instead i cooked the bacon seperately, used the grease to cook the chops and in another pan i carmalized onions to put on top of the chops. had mashed potatoes with crumbled bacon, scallions and cheddar cheese for a side. tasty dinner!

This was really good. I used Sam Adams and it was a little too strong. I do enjoy beer but I prefer light beer, so next time I will use something lighter. A really good way to dazzle up chops though!
