This dish is better than dessert. I liked it just as much before I put in the oven as after. I did not take the crust off the bread as I prefer the crunch.

I made this to go with a ham and Alton Brown's baked mac and cheese. It was great. Surprisingly good tomato flavor in winter time, but I'll be making this year round!

Awesome, but brown the bread so not soggy!

The flavor elements were there, but in the end, not good as expected. TOO SOGGY! I measured the bread, toasted it well and measured the tomatoes too. Still too soggy. Not sure will make again. Usually Ina's recipes are foolproof, but not here. Sorry :(

I made this for my daughter's family and me and then later for a Gideon dinner which I cook for. It is really good. I didn't think I could get too many croutons in it but I did so stick with the amount it calls for. It was delightful!

I made this tonight for a neighborhood potluck. We had such an abundance of tomatoes and when I saw this dish it sounded so yummy and easy to make too. Like other reviews, my bread was a little soggy. I didn't see Ina make this on TV so I may not have browned the bread enough and that might have been the problem. Next time, I will make sure to brown it more. Otherwise it had good flavor. My neighbors all said they liked it, but I think the texture turned them off a little too. I'll try it again, but definitely brown the croutons more and maybe even bake it a little longer too.

This is our "go to" side when we host a meal and everyone always loves it.

An amazing blend of flavors...nothing overpowering...had no leftovers after 3 of us had dinner! Was asked to double the recipe next time.

Fabulous! Saw Ina make it on TV - I think she used only 2 tea. of sugar, rather than the 2 T in the recipe. I used the 2 tea. and it was just right- I will add more bread next time. I only had rosemary on hand, rather than the basil, and it was quite nice - It's on the "make again" list!
