Can we get the REAL recipe?! I want an authentic recipe like my grandma makes. These are okay, but I won't be making any more bunuelos recipes thar don't require making your own dough and some lard. These are nothing compared to my Grandma Gonzalez's bunuelos.

Very easy to make. I used canola oil and raw flour tortillas. They are sold at Walmart. I also cut the tortillas into triangle shapes prior to frying so it would be an easier to eat. Everybody loved them. Thanks Marcela

My 9 year old daughter and I made bunuelos today for a party tonight and can't wait to have some more of them. They were fun, easy, and super yummy. I made a little variation to the cinnamon and sugar by adding some cayenne pepper to have that spicy kick and the end for something different. Going to have these along side some appleberry salsa or some Tastefully Simple Lemonade fruit dip and dessert is served!!

I dislike this version of bunuelos. I've made them like this before thanks to Paula Dean. Either way, I will not do it again. Give us the real recipe please!!! This way does not taste nearly the same. ...However, I just realized this could work if you used homemade tortillas that you bought from a restaurant, like Nuevo Leon, in Chicago. If you are thinking of buying tortillas from Jewel or Walmart, forget it.

I've been making these since I was a kid with my Mom. This is a great short-cut recipe. If you have the time to make the tortillas from scratch, by all means do so. Otherwise, for those impromptu guests that arrive, this recipe is a hit!

We were making these as kids at home. But the best ones are made with either real homemade tortilla dough or even the store bought ready to make mix. They fry up way better and when you sugar n cinnamon they come out perfect. Using the ready cooked tortillas ? NO ! ( bisquit dough made the same way ? DOUGHNUTS baby !!

These are not bunuelos, not authentic. To those that say it is, they have been sadly mislead.
