My wife made this the other night and it was the best chicken noodle soup I've ever eaten. She left out the peas as I am not a big fan and we didn't have any dill, but this soup was excellent! If the Neelys have a cookbook I am buying it!

This soup was excellent. I made a few adjustments (always the tinkerer, I am, mainly because of a few ingredients I had on hand that I needed to get rid of. I added in a couple of slices of cut-up, cooked turkey bacon, and I added spinach in the last minute, letting it cook only long enough to wilt. I did take to heart one commenter's note to cook the pasta separately and add it as needed. I had no dill on hand, so I'll have to try that the next time. Even with the additions, this was scrumptious, and even my son thoroughly enjoyed it (and ate spinach!

This soup has very good flavor. I only used 2 tbsp. of flour because I thought 3 might make it too thick - it was the perfect consistency for me. I roasted the chicken first then cubed it and added it -including the skin- at the very end. I also put in some fresh parsley in addition to the dill. First time making soup and I was very pleased with the end result. Served it to my husband and my dad and they both enjoyed it as well.

Made this tonight. Fantastic! Of course, I had to play around with it (lol.
-Doubled the recipe. Could have tripled it though (family of 5
-Used bone in chicken thighs and skinless chicken breasts. Poached in the veggie and broth mixture, removed when done (about 20 min, cubed, sat meat aside and returned bones to soup, removed bones just before serving when I added the meat back. Important to skim the fat off the top when using skin on chicken.
-Only added 5T of flour because I was afraid that 6 + noodles would make it too thick.Should have added all 6
-Forgot the fresh Dill at the store and used a dried dill blend. Definitely missed the fresh. Added Thyme, perfect combo.
-Could have easily tripled the veggies (remember I double the recipe and would have been fine. I like lots of veggies though
Looking forward to making this again tomorrow to combine with the leftovers, what little there is, from tonight. First Pat and Gina recipe I've made. I'll be looking to make more.

This was my first time attempting homeade chicken noodle soup and it was so easy to make. The best part though...it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! I followed the recipe exactly with the addition of mushrooms and canned corn, then served it up with homeade potato bacon bread. I'll definitely be making this again!
