There are several components to this dish, but it is worth the effort. The flavors are wonderful and this has become one of our favorites.

There might be a lot of ingredients and small steps, but it's worth it! We loved this recipe. The flavor was perfect and it was a very easy dish to make. I'd highly recommend trying this.

i love this dish. super easy to make. i thought i would hate the beans with the fish, but it actually worked quite well together. the salsa is so simple and the flavors are amazing. never thought i would like purple cabbage, but it added a great, fresh extra crunch.

Fla-va, oh ya, it had alot of it. I only made the fish but the only issue I had was my fish never browned and I made sure there wasn't alot of sauce so it wouldn't steam. Not sure what happened. Curb appeal wasn't the best, but the flavor was spot on.

I made this dish last night for dinner and received rave reviews. I used canned white navy beans and rinsed them to remove the extra sodium and the dish turned out great. I also used fresh pineapple too rather than canned (more flavor. I love Melissa's show-she has so many wonderful tips to offer. For those of you who have said some pretty mean and hurtful comments...didn't your mother teach you to keep your mouth shut if you didn't have anything nice to say?

I really loved this recipe. Husband didn't love it, but didn't hate it either. That is why I gave it four stars. This recipe took a while to make. Spent most of my time prepping the ingredients. I would make it again, but it will probably be a while. Also I toasted the corn tortillas instead of frying them . Trying to save myself a few calories.

I ABSOLUTELY love your show. I have made many recipes and loved them. I use many in my weekly repertoire. However, the flavors of the individual components of this meal do not mesh when they are put together. I get that the beans are meant to stretch the dollar, but they had NO BUSINESS on that plate. In fact, individually, everything was pretty foul tasting. The fish was bland, the tostadas were bland, and the condiments lackluster and didn't mix well at all. The ONLY saving grace of this recipe, is the salsa, and even that took some tweaking. It tastes MUCH better without the avocado muddling it up, and using FRESH pineapple is a huge game-changer. (I now use the tweaked salsa recipe as well. Overall, I wasted most of my day on the purchase and prep, and had such dismal results, I would not recommend this to anyone. Not even my pets.

This was awesome! Great, great flavors on the fish. Loved the salsa with the honey and the onion and pineapple. I would serve this to anyone who is a fish eater. This would be a great meal to entertain with.
Now, to those who do nothing but bash Melissa
and make fun of her and who really have nothing better to do or are simply not happy:
I have read a ton of reviews about how the food is not $10 and costs way over that. When I look at the recipes, I see what I have on hand now. and that is how I guage what I make. I think the idea here is that you won't have to go buy "every, single" item in the recipes Melissa makes
One of the reasons I like Melissa so much is because she is the real deal, she really puts her heart in to this and makes these meals for her whole family and really has so much to teach us who struggle about making things special and saving money..
I am on a budget and I really appreciate the tips she gives on the show and in her videos she made from the grocery stores that you can see on her Ten Dollar Dinners website.
If you are jealous and don't like her just because, then TURN THE CHANNEL.
And seriously, Matt, the BK is better? Did you even make the Fish Hook meal?
