Yummy! We are from New Mexico so of course we added green chili to it. It was delicious. Maybe a touch too greasy but great.

Well, I didn't use the bread you listed because we are trying to watch the carbs, but, I made my own just so I could have this!! It is white whole wheat bread which is pretty good. Serving this with a tomato basil soup (that I didn't make, dangit add the sauce (without the capers and I bet yours is best but I think mine came out pretty good : I don't feel so guilty eating bread if I use my own : Great as always, absolutely love your show and love you more! Thanks!!!

Great recipe! Even made it with "cheap" bread & it was really good. Definitely a keeper.

Great recipe! Great taste! stillwaters_11747111's review gives this a 1-star rating after changing the ingredients There are just two...bread and cheese, yet you found a way to mess it up! Same concept? Give us a break you knuckle-knob! Why didn't you change the oil to water so you could have made a boiled cheese sandwich and then rate it zero stars? You could have substituted your kitchen sponge for the ham. Some people shouldn't have computers... they're just too dangerous. Stillwaters indeed...and thick too. If you ever had an original thought, it would die of loneliness. I took the time (that I'll never get back to read some of your other reviews to see if you were just having some type of episode or if you were off your meds or some other reason you may have chosen to bash Anne's recipe.... I wasn't surprised to find your other reviews were equally shallow. You may want to stay out of the kitchen before you hurt yourself or others!

@stillwaters .... why do you ruin a 5 star rating by making a totally different recipe? You used different cheese, "regular" = cheap store bread, and threw on some ham u wanted to get rid of... ridiculous. If your not going to make the recipe don't review, it's not fair to the chef. The sandwich Chef Anne made was delicious & well worth making!

Great comfort food. I make a mild anchovy butter to pour over it but I'll give this dipping sauce recipe a try too.

This recipe brought back memories of my mom. I followed your recipe, but ended it as she did, with a sprinkling of white wine while still warm. Yummy!

Ann...best new show on the network...love what you're cooking and you are personality plus! I try not to miss any of your shows. I'm an ex New Yorker and you give me a BIG taste of home.
Never thought I would see this recipe...Used to have it at a place called Grotta Azoro(spelling in Little Italy...they called it spedini and poured the sauce right over it
I will make it just the way you directed because that's the way I remembered it
Thank You...thank you...thank you!
