Chicken was way too heavily spiced with five spice flavor. A little goes a long way...as much as this recipie called for rendered the chicken inedible....

The Cabbage was ridiculously good, I did not have nor could I find the Chinese five-spice, so I used all spice instead, which for me was okay, but the husband thought it was VERY good, I also use thighs and grilled them, the potato's were okay, next time I'll change the cheese. This is a keeper, especially the Cabbage

So, glad I caught this at just the right time, next to the SALT comment. Actually, I thought there was far too much PEPPER in each dish at 1 full teaspoon. I'll just cut back on the pepper and it will be a great combo recipe! And if you know what you're doing, I agree, it only takes 1 hour. You can have the chicken breasts in your freezer, the potatoes in your pantry, who doesn't have cheese ready to grate and a pint of cream (I keep FF 1/2&1/2 - it keeps longer in the fridge and all you have to do is buy the cabbage! Thanks for a slick at-the-last-minute dinner.

This recipe is amazing and plates beautifully. However, there is WAY too much SALT. Especially in the potatoes. I'll make this again, but cut back on the salt by quite a bit. Delicious!

I made this dish a while back in the fall but forgot to come here and let you know what we thought of it. All of the dishes were great! I now use the cabbage dish as a quick inexpensive staple. I remembered because of the new season of Food Network Star....Great dish.

Hi Alexis, I hope you get notifications of the posts here. Just saw the new season, love your website, and follow you on twitter. I think the components of this dish is versatile enough to match with other dishes. I had a problem with the potato dish but I surmise that every oven is different and I am sure you use a fancy oven or stove. The Five spice is a little much but maybe that is how you like it. Cabbage is great and my kids actually will eat the "Alexis Cabbage". Wish you the best. I hear you are in Atlanta, I hope all is well with you and you family.

they changed the videos under your name. You are so funnY! Why couldn't they see that when you were on the show? How stupid to get rid of one of the funny likable people. I tried all of this but one at a time. All Delicious. Never knew there was a five spice out there. Makes things taste very special. The cabbage is my favorite but I added raisins for more sweetness. I use all of these alone with other dishes and everyone really likes all of them. The potatoes were hard to slice cause I don't have a thin slicer....Just my knife....HAd to cook it longer than stated becasue my potatoes were so thick but came out really really good. Thank you. This years finalists look cool too.

Made this last week with my boi Cranz! Sup! Never eaten cabbage except sour kraout! But I made this dish for my friend and his family who has a dude who is a picky eater and actually it was killer. Off the chain... This dude was funny on the show... who comes up with that crap he was saying in the side line comments. Gay or not gay who cares. I am not gay but I am saying that the dish was good and I have respect for this gay.
