Looking for a BIG mortar & pestle? Try going to an Asian supermarket. I bought mine there. It's really big. And, the price was cheap for its size.

Fennel & Orange you can't go wrong!! Brought back childhood memories of my grandmother & mother braising fennel and the smell of it in the kitchen was phenomenal!!! of course, back then not my favorite vegetable but as an adult i've grown to love & appreciate its flavors!! Thanks Alex!! BTW, does anyone know where I can find an extra large mortar & pestle like Alex used on the show??

I used pecans and pecan oil instead of walnuts. This is an incredibly delicious salad. I thinnk it could be a great lunch meal in itself.

My family loves cooked fennel. I usually just cut it up and roast it with olive oil salt and pepper. I was having roast pork yesterday and after seeing the show I went out and bought all the ingredients. All I can say is WOW my family went crazy. The walnut pesto is to die for. The hazelnut oil was a little pricey but so worth it. Thank you Alex.

I RAN into the kitchen to put together this wonderful early dinner. I didn't have fish but had some beautiful chicken breast. So instead of the fish she paired this salad with I used the Chicken. This salad was fresh and clean and light and really well with the chicken. When I fixed the Fennel instead of using wine (which again I didn't have I used chicken broth. OMG! It all came together and my husband LOVED IT! My mother made the dessert, so it was just the perfect ending to a wonderful day. Alex is amazing and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
