Wonderful flavor, my family loved them. Next time I would reduce the water so they are less soupy. Served with cornbread and greens for New Years!

I was rasied on good food; and these peas gave a brand new twist to how black-eyed peas taste. The individual flavors of the indegredients stood out, like a burst of flavor in your mouth.

I watched the Neelys make the Black-Eyed Peas and made it for my sister and her husband and they loved them, of course I did too. I really didn't care for Black-Eyed Peas neither did my sister, but this was great and even my sister and husband thought it was Great!

I loved this recipe. The pork and bacon really added so much flavor. I did adjust some of the spices to suit my family's taste and we all loved it. It was even better the next day! I'm definitely making these again!

With all that cooking and ingredients, I would think this should be something special. Instead it tasted like ordinary canned black eyed peas with meat. Couldn't taste the heat at all, nor the garlic. And don't mash them. Makes them mushy and pasty.

NEELY'S!!!!!! My mom died a little over a year ago and I have been trying to find recipes that are close to her food. All I can say about this one is Fanominal!! This one hits the nail on the head. Perfect amount of flavor and heat!! I followed the recipe to a T. Did not change anything and I loved it!! Couldn't be better. This will be my always go to New Years (and any day tradition peas. Thanks for putting out such a great recipe that gave me, a recipe for a memory. :-
