I hate it when people rate recipes but make all these substitutions...but I did substitute marscapone cheese for the ricotta, anyway! The rest I followed precisely (well, as precisely as you can get as without measuring anything. I like ricotta, but I LOVE marscapone. The hubby does not love ricotta anyway, and the marscapone cheese was nearby in the grocery store. I think marscapone lends itself to a dessert a little better, and it melts a little into the bread if it's still warm or the topping is warm. This was absolutely amazing. We literally licked the sauce off the plate when we finished. This is good enough to serve to company and easy enough to have a glass of wine in one hand while you're cooking it! I could see this being good with peaches, maybe apples when they're in season. So good!

Great combination of flavors. A quick and easy appetizer!
