My wife & I are attempting to eat better and what better place to find a recipe than here. Neither of us are big fish fans. In fact, about the only way we would eat it is when it came from the deep fryer at the drive through.

Until now. We made this the other night and loved it. I can't wait to have it again, but mix it up a little with what ka7tfn did.

I guess it isn't really fair to judge this recipe since i changed it around so much. Instead of rice cereal I used special K chips with sea salt and crushed them up. I seasoned talapia on both sides with garlic powder black pepper and sweet paprika. Instead of egg whites I used equal portions of milk and egg beater with 2 tbs of flour and 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper in it. did the fish in egg mixture then into special k crumbs. Spray the baking sheet plac the fish on then spray the fish. 450 for 10 min or until brown.

The fries were good. The fish was not so good. Very bland and tasted like fish with rice cereal on it. Would not make this again. I guess there's really no healthy substitution for fish and chips.

Well of course if you expect it to be like battered fish, it's not... but bland? Cooking is all about adding your own spin on a recipe. You can tell while you are preparing whether it will be bland. Like another reviewer I added a good amount of lemon pepper. Also I used frozen cod fillets. Imagination in the kitchen is so important to a good finished product.

    Great fries!
Another healthy baked fish: with whole wheat panko breading.

Delicious! I was a little worried that they wouldn't come out crispy enough, but they were perfect! crunchy on the outside but moist on the inside! This will become a staple in my house!

It's OK. It is baked crispy fish - NOT fish and chips, which needs to be battered. Let's face it: There is NO WAY to make real fish and chips healthy. The fries are good; preheating the pan makes a difference..

We prefer cooking light in our house and were delighted to find a recipe for "Fish and Chips." The fish was mushy and the tatar sauce was bland. The chips were soggy and okay at best. Clean up was not worth the final product.

This is the best baked, breaded fish recipe I've tried. It was a little low on flavor which could be fixed by adding spices to the rice krispie mixture or the egg whites. It's perfect for kids as is and can be stored in the freezer for last minute dinners. The tarter sauce in the magazine was also very good, but I don't see it here.
