This was delicious. I had my first ever Chicago Dog in the airport in Chicago a few years ago and loved it. Tried it at home today in KY and it was just as awesome. Cant wait to for my family to try it.

This is by far my favorite dog of all...when I visited Chicago I had this at least once a day - thank goodness I was only there for a week! I agree with previous posters... Vienna beef dog and the neon relish. The celery salt tops it off for me.

Best dog in the world, bar none. The peppers need to be "Sport peppers", the dog needs to be "Vienna beef" and to finish off the dog, place a drop of oil in a skillet, heat and roll around to put a little "skin" on the dog.

The Chicago dog is the best dog you'll find anywhere! This recipe looks really original so I'll try it!

Start with a Vienna Beef Hot Dog and a steamed poppy seed bun or otherwise toss it!

Vienna also makes this neon green relish (in addition to the Vienna dog and you can score it from their website. OR just come to Chicago and hang out with us at Portillo's or Gene and Jude's! Lose the cucumber spear but keep the pickle spear.
