My brothers loved them, and my health nut sister, not so much.

Did not use the deep fat method- tried to just pan fry in the skillet. Bacon stuck to the pan and I couldn't turn them. Oh well. Bacon, Hot Dogs and Beans still tastes great.

This is a recipe? I have been doing this for years except that I don't fry them.

Not that I have a thing against deep-frying, but do you think it's possible to do this in the oven? I don't have a deep-fryer and I'm scared to death of doing it on top of the stove. Never done it. I like my house and don't want to burn it down! LOL!

Just watched a show last night on hot dogs! These look delish! Who cares about fat when it is a treat. Not everyone has to eat no fat and healthy every day of their life.

I agree with the Chill Out review! Really? FAT is not all bad and very tasty. I do a low carb high protien diet swim an hour a day and never go hungry. Fat keeps you full longer and the body utilizes it for energy My blood work is better than 25 years ago. The recipe is great and cheese in it is also good. I have these usually broiled and use pre cooked ready to eat bacon. The bacon is soft and easy to wrap and broils up in about 2 minutes! OH the DOG DAYS OF SUMMER! Love this or leave this but try one!

If you haven't tried it don't knock it!! Deep frying is the very best way for an awesome dog. In New Jersey we call these hot dogs "rippers" and they are so good. Crispy on the outside & soft on the inside. Of course you don't eat them on a regular basis. For me, if I had to pick my "last meal" it would be a ripper!!

Chill out, people! You don't have to eat them everyday! Or at all! My kids are out running and playing all day in the summer. They burn up more fat and calories than the adults will in a week. If they enjoy these once in a while -- and I know they will-- then let them have at it! These will be good after a full day with their choice of toppings.

Let's see - whether they taste great or not, fat wrapped in still more fat? C'mon. No wonder there's an obesity epidemic in this country.
