AMAZING!!!!! The taste is just right on! Great recipe. To those people that found it tasty, you are using the WRONG chorizo, you need to find spanish chorizo (spanish from Spain! not the mexican stuff. Real chorizo or original so not to offend others, comes from spain and the taste comes from the paprika (or pimentón as it is known is Spain. Try it with that if you can find it and you will love this dish!!

I made this about an hour ago and followed the receipe to the T and it was horrible. It tasted really bad, felt like we were eating mussels in hot wine soup.

You definetly have to like the taste of wine with this sauce. It did get rave reviews from my husband. Super simple to pull together. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Made this tonight for appetizer night, and my husband, girlfriend and her mother really liked it! My friend's mother had never had mussels before, and I hadn't cooked them before, so this was a great dish to start with. The chorizo added lots of flavor. Will definitely try again, and it is an easy recipe to change around and "BYOC" as Claire would say.

I have a similar recipe but use clams and white wine.
I want to try this recipe but I will be adding lots of garlic, about 1/2 half the red wine.
Also to the reviewer who didn't like the strong wine flavor... you might want to choose a lighter wine.

It was too spicey for us and the chorizo overpowered the mussels.

I love mussels, so I was very excited about trying this simple recipe. It's a great concept & I love the flavors of the onion, chorizo & mussels together. The main flaw is that when you add a full bottle of wine with only 4-5 min before cooking time is completed, the overwhelming flavor in the sauce is alcohol.

Next time I make this, I think I will add the chorizo back in with the wine & let it reduce a bit before adding the mussels in to steam.

This was my fist time cooking mussels or using chorizo! The recipe was super simple and everything cooked so fast! The smells were amazing! The only thing I did different is used chicken stock instead of wine and added tons of garlic! So yummy to sop the sauce up with garlic bread, too! This will be a definite repeater!
