This is a fantastic recipe by Aarti! Since many of the comments stated the recipe was a little bland for those who enjoy Indian food regularly, I upped the ante on the spices.
I added 10 small green chiles to the masala mixture, added 8 cloves of garlic and 1 tsp chilli powder.
I also changed the spice mixtures to... 2 heaping teaspoons of cumin, 1 heaping teaspoon of groun coriander, 3/4 teaspoon of garam masala and tumeric powder.
I also seared the chicken in a nonstick pan with 2 tablespoons of the masala mixture before adding it the pot. And as another reviewer suggested, i added a teaspoon of the masala mix to the yogurt to help smooth it out. I served ithe curry with some "Deep" frozen tandoori naan.
This recipe was a huge hit and even my mother liked it! (my biggest food critic!!!

I love paneer dishes...so I make a paneer at home. so those who want to try the pizza with paneer here is the recipe.

1.33 litre whole milk (or one bag from the 4 litre milk
    1tbsp of vinegar.
    1 muslin cloth(or hankerchief

Bring the milk to boil in a pan, stir it frequently to prevent it from burning. Remove from heat and add vinegar( the milk will curdle. If the Milk doesn't curdle then keep on adding few drops of vinegar until it does. After couple minute the Milk should form lumps and the water should seperate. Allow it to cool for couple minutes. Strain through the muslin cloth. When the liquid is mostly drained out, lift the cloth by the corners and twist to squeeze out remaining liquid. After the water is drained. Fold the muslin cloth over the paneer and make an even rectangle or a round shape.Put the cloth on a cutting board and then cover it with something heavy like a book. After couple hours the paneer will be ready and then refrigerate it if you want to use it the next day.

I am not very good at writing recipes but I hope this will help.

This is flavorful, warm and easy to make. I served it with Kashi Pilaf and it added a nice, nutty flavor. The recipe makes enough for 3. I served it to 2 and it saves well for the next day.

The aroma generated during the preparation of this dish filled the house with an exotic atmosphere. Clear instructions made it easy to prepare. However, the chicken thighs generated more fat in the pan than I anticipated. To avoid diluting the flavor of the yogurt sauce, I added some spice mixture (drained of chicken fat to the whipped yogurt (in a small bowl and used it as a sauce at the table.

I served two chicken thighs with a popover and it was a filling meal for two diners.

A fantastic recipe created in the short time allowed during the competition episode. I'll be an avid viewer of Aarti Parti!

Indian food is not one of my favorites but Aarti has won me over with this recipe! This is wonderful! I made it late tonight and even though I had dinner and it was 11pm I had to eat some. I stopped myself before I ate too much before going to bed. I just love it!!!!!!

I have never made anything that I have seen off of Food Network before. For some reason, Aarti has inspired me to try new things because she makes cooking indian food accessible for those of us who have never really had it before. Other reviewers complain that there is not enough heat in this dish, but Aarti's concept is to bring in indian flavors into American dishes-- this also means the average American's palette. I hate spicy dishes, and this recipe was absolutely perfect to me. It's also amazing that such a healthy dish can taste so amazing! I substituted the whole milk yogurt with 0% greek yogurt-- so there's herbs, spices, vegetables, chicken, yogurt with a touch of vinegar-- can't get much healthier than that, and SO amazing. I will DEFINITELY be tuning in week after week to see what she comes up with next! :

I've never really had this type of food before, but watching Aarti totally inspired me. I just made this recipe and WOW was it good. Like others I used chicken breasts and I was so bummed I forgot the yogurt at the store so I used 8 oz. of cream cheese to thicken.....soooo good. Next time I make it, I'll make sure I get the yogurt. I know it would have given it a little more tang. I'm so glad you won Aarti.....keep the recipes coming!

First, I made this dish and served it just as Aarti did on the episode of The Next Food Network Star. It makes for a great weeknight dinner, it's easy and fairly fast, about 40 minutes with prep time. The thing I loved about it was the flavor even with all the cilantro the mint could still be tasted. I didn't care for it being served in a bowl. I felt it was difficult cutting the chicken in that environment. I also felt that the chicken itself could have used a little more texture. So i will definitely make this one again but the next time I will cut the chicken more into bite size pieces and seer it in a pan and get a crunch on it before putting it in the very yummy curry sauce. The other thing I did was I embellished the naan bread. After I heated it up I rubbed it with a garlic clove. Then I melted a little bit of butter and put just a touch of garam masala in it and brushed it on the naan bread. It gave iot some more flavor that warm bread and it also allowed a second chance to bring in one of the seasonings thati's in the chicken dish. I felt it brought the whole thing together.
Congrats Aarti!!!!! I'm really glad you won! I love to eat the type of food you are going to be cooking and I hope I get to cook a lot more of your recipes.

I have watched The Next Food Network Star since it started and never felt compelled to cook the food of any of the participants during the show. This is the second recipe I made of Aarti's and it was fabulous. The sauce has depth of flavor with a nice balance of flavors too. My husband, son and I literally wiped the plate and skillet clean. I finished with a lite sour cream instead of yogurt and it worked fine. This was a wonderful meal. Thank you and God Bless you Aarti!

Made this tonight to celebrate Aarti's win. It was very aromatic and flavorful. My kids enjoyed dipping their naan into the sauce. I only had about 1/4 c of mint leaves in my herb garden but that was just the right amount in my opinion. I could taste and smell mint, but it wasn't overwhelming...just right! Delicous with Epicurious' INDIAN RICE. We made naan on the grill with our favorite pizza dough. One fantastic meal!
