I made this last year for the Fourth of July and am making it again this year. Everyone loves this trifle and it is pretty easy to make and transport.

This was awesome! I made it twice this weekend for 2 different picnics and everyone loved it. I have often made the whipped cream with marscapone cheese instead of cream cheese, but I found that we all liked the cream cheese much better. This is such a wonderful, basic recipe that I can see changing it up a bit for what ever fruits are in season. Thank you Sunny!

Had a party for my brother to celebrate his commissioning into the US Navy. Perfect dessert for the party. The lemon simple syrup-soaked angel food cake was so good. The whipped cream was fabulous (although I did add a couple tablespoons of powdered sugar just to sweeten it slightly. It was a big hit, and I got tons of complements. There wasn't a bite left!

It was a big hit at the family BBQ. I used pound cake instead of angel food cake. Delicious.

It was absolutely DELICIOUS AND EASY. I made this for our family reunion and there was not a morsel left. Everyone wanted the recipe. I did add about 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1/2 tsp of vanilla to the cream mixture.

I made a few changes when I made this because I have family watching their fat and sugar intake:
For the syrup: 1/4 cup sugar and increased the fresh lemon juice to 1/3 cup and 1/4 water. I also used a premade slightly thawed pound cake (I like Sara Lee instead of the angel food cake. Then I cut the sugar in the filling from 2/3 cup to just over 1/4 cup and used regular whipping cream instead of heavy. Other than that it was great!

Very good, but you need to cut the sugar in cream down, otherwise it is too sweet

We made this for our Memorial Day BBQ. It was simple, delicious, and a great ending for our meal. It was not expensive or difficult to make. I am saving the recipe to make again and again. Thank you!

Loved how this looked and turned out awesome even with using sugarfree everything! I modified the recipe for the family so we could have a sugar free option at the bbqs this past wknd. I used sugarfree angelfood cake, splenda instead of sugar and sugarfree vanilla for flavor in the cream cheese instead. It was a big hit at both bbqs and everyone raved about it not knowing it was sugarfree! Definate do over and over again!
