I made three of Aarti's dishes tonight, this which my husband and I both agreed it was not to our liking at all, the chicken tikka masala and the aloo goba (which was really good. This rice just seemed bland which one would think the opposite with all the great ingredients in it. I made it exactly (even had the curry leaves from the Indian store I go to. We expected to be wowed with this, but were not. I do cook many different varieties of rice all the time, so I don't understand how the other 3 reviewers thought it was so great. Difference in taste I guess. I do like Aarti, but expected more from this recipe. Happy cooking to all! :

Delicious. The first time I made it, I used the chorizo and it was very good. The second time I made it without the chorizo and it was awesome. I will be making this again as it has become my favorite rice dish.

This dish was so so good. Great balance of flavors. I will be making this again and again. I truly hope Aarti wins, she's fabulous!
