I made this for lunch. So simple and so good. I used "smoked ham off the bone" instead of the weird processed stuff she used on the show. It was surprising how sauteeing it in olive oil gave it so much flavor. I'll definitely make this again.

I absolutely love Melissa. She is experienced, knowledgable, interesting to watch, and she makes me want to try everyting she cooks. But her talent is held back, being limited to preparing $10 meals. Why don't they give her free rein to do what she does best, which is cook??? She spent weeks demonstrating her skill and cretivity to win The Next Food Network Star, and now she's doing a Cooking 101 show.

I'm sorry but I have to agree with Suzanne..I know of NO WHERE that you can make this for $1.00.The bread alone is more than that at any store. Unfortunately if you are tuning in specifically to find low cost menus i.e. under $10 then more often than not you are going to be disappointed. The meals are good, and Melissa is very engaging but the cost figures just don't jive with true grocery store prices..

I've made this before and it's very tasty but have no idea where she lives that you can buy a loaf of crispy bread, garlic, tomatoes and ham and put that whole platter together for anywhere near $1.00 as she stated on her show. The bread alone would be more than that here.
I like her and I think she's a good cook but her costs are waaaaaaaaay off.
