Not enough peanut butter flavor, and I agree with the batter not looking right.

I watched them make these twice so when I made mine I was surprised at the consistency of my batter compared to theirs. I really think there is something wrong with the typed recipe or either it is just because it is hers that they did not turn out well. Dry, crumbly, barely rose but hey, they did smell like peanut butter. Even my crew of guys would not eat them and they love every thing.

I have been hunting for a good PB&J muffin recipe for quite awhile. The "go-to" recipe I have been using for years started to taste a little bland...I guess I just got used to it. I didn't try just the Paula Dean version, based on all the reviews, I wanted to taste what all the fuss was about with the small changes that were made to this recipe. Thanks to black_panther, this is my new go-to recipe. The flavors were well balanced and wonderful. Was definitely worth it!

These were MUCH better the first time when I mistakingly used 2 teaspoons of baking powder instead of 2 T. They were tastier and a little more dense. The second time I used 2 T. and they were too crumbly and fell apart and had a much more bland taste. Wonder if it was a typo error on the baking powder.

I made them last night. I thought they were delish! I didn't find them bland and prefer a not too sweet muffin. So they are perfect to me. They are very easy to make. I did just read a review that suggested making a little dip in the batter for the jam (not jelly. I did do that towards the end and it helped.

Just made mine and they turned out awful. Wish I had read other reviews. First off, came out very dry and fell apart, not sweet enough, barely any taste at all. And "jelly" really means thick jam or preserves. I had some preserves, but ran out and had to use actual jelly . What a mess. I questioned all that baking powder, too, felt like it had a taste of that. Yuk. I wouldn't even waste my time tweeking this recipe.

I could not find on the recipe after I viewed it on air so I went from memory & didn't add the butter. They turned out a little dry but only 5 WW points so I will take that. Thanks Paula you are awesome. :

Read review on black_panther, he is so right. 5 stars if you make them that way. I also put 3tbs baking powder, 2 eggs, 1 cup brown sugar 3tbs honey. They were so fluffy light perfect sweetness. Hint make sure you put jelly dead center. I didn't do so well either it popped on top or leaked to bottom. Definitely will use a thicker jam next time.
