Hmmm... I DID make this recipe, and agree with one of the other ratings that it was not quite sweet enough. There was no sugar in it (compared to Paula's regular bread pudding recipe that had 2 cups in it, which seemed to be too much for me and I did NOT see sweetened condensed milk in the recipe... Not sure where Chef #1211822 was coming from with that. None the less, tried it, would add sugar if I ever made again, which I probably won't.

This bread pudding is one of the best I have eaten. I especially like it because it was not dense like a lot of bread puddings can be.I didn't use the chocolate sauce. I used one of my own, with no chocolate. You won't be sorry if you try this recipe. It is truly
    de-e-e-e-e-e-licious!!!!

We loved this. There is no sweetened condensed milk in this recipe. Read it closely. There is coconut milk and cream of coconut .Cream of coconut is used to make Pina Coladas and is found in the alcoholic drink mix isle in our grocery. The coconut milk was found in the asian food isle.along with that the sweetened flaked coconut makes this dish just sweet enough. The coconut and chocolate flavors are divine together. I'm making this for our next family get-together. It's so easy and is delicious.

Ok, based on the last review, I don't see condensed milk in the recipe. I see unsweetened coconut milk. Is there something missing in the recipe? Nonetheless, I rated it 5 stars because I know it will be good. It's hard to go wrong with bread pudding and you can put your own twist to it with, maybe, bourbon sauce or add rum to the custard to compliment the coconut.

YUM!!! I think the ingredient list is perfect, but I should have baked it longer, it wasn't quite as "set" as I would've liked. This was a hit, like other raters, this reminded me of an Almond Joy candy bar. What I like is that this can be put in the fridge after it's cooked and cooled, then you could serve it the next evening (so easy if you're having company to make ahead of time! and just heat each serving a bit in the microwave before putting on the topping. Very good flavor, texture, and an impressive dish!

If you haven't tried the recipe, please do not rate it because your rating and comments are useless!

Tasty recipe - love it, and added a little toasted coconut to sprinkle on top.

This turned out great. Very tasty and creamy. Wish I could block stupid reviewers or delete reviews such as the ridiculous one from goodwin502003! How can you rate it a 1 star if you haven't tried the recipe, which as a result, lowers the average rating of this great recipe?! How ridiculous is that? Please try this recipe, especially as a dessert for the upcoming summer months. Love the recipe, love the show, love love love Paula. Thank you for your hard work.

Why are there so many people on here, GIVING A LOWER RATING NO LESS, that haven't even tried to make or taste this dish? What's wrong with you people? If you want to just babble for no reason, call a friend or go on a blog - don't put a lower rating on a dish that you haven't tried just so you can say "gee, sounds interesting, I'm gonna try it".

I made this recipe yesterday, and just as I expected - it tasted wonderful! My only problem - and I am sure it wasn't the recipe - it must have been something I didn't do correctly - my bread pudding was not custard like - but instead was a little too runny. I thought at first maybe some of the water from the water bath may have spilled over into my baking dish - I'm not sure what happened. Did anyone else have this problem? I want to make it again - soon, but wuld like some suggestions as to what I might do to correct this.

Well, I made this tonight for Valentine's Day tomorrow. I was really disappointed! It seems like something was left out. There was no sugar in the recipe, and it tasted like it needed some. I checked the recipe thinking I made a mistake, but I followed the directions exactly. I don't think I will ever make it again.
