Can you say OMG!!! This recipe was outstanding. Rich and creamy grits and slightly spicy shrimp. And yes with the cream the calories were definitely in attendance but looking at the history of recipes like these, southern staples one should expect that. I loved it and so did my family...as a matter of fact I am making it again tonight :

Wonderfull dish, enjoyed it very much. Those that complain about the calories should go to the healthy food section. It's like going to a Rolls Royce dealer and complaining there are no economy cars there.??? This was excellent recepe.

Loved It. I had to alter the dish for less grits and shrimp as it was only my daughter in I. Used too much Old Bay on the Shrimp, but when I took a bite of the shrimp and then the grits, it evened out due to the fact that the grits were kind of bland. I did add some cheddar cheese and French Onions to the grits. Next time I will use less Old Bay, but overall, it was I hit. I live 15 minutes from D.C. and can't wait to visit OOhs and Aahs and taste the original recipe.

Made the recipe tonight. Followed it exactly, except substituted half & half for the cream just to save some calories. The shrimp definitely have a little bit of heat. However, I thought the grits were bland and didn't really add anything to the dish. This definitely needed something else, like maybe cheese in the grits or something. If anything, I'd make the shrimp again but probably just serve with rice instead of the grits.

I get so tired of people making comments who haven't made the recipe. There are others who want to complain about how many calories are in the dish are getting on my nerves too. For those of you who think this dish has too many calories I suggest you just not make it and go to a low calorie dish.

Anyway, this turned out really well and my entire family enjoyed the kick that the shrimp had. I will definitely make this again.

Looks amazingly tasty but can anyone say Holy Cow on the calorie count. If you cover anything with 2 cups of heavy cream followed by butter (anything it would taste amazing. If I were jogging 50 miles/day I would maybe make this for dinner otherwise I will pass on the heart attack on a plate for now. What I mean to say is this meal seems entirely to heavy for the normal American diet including kids, adults, or anyone who does not work out at least 2 hours/day at least. I will try making this with whole milk and pass on the cream.

I made this over the weekend and it was SO SO SO GOOD! I followed the recipe & the grits were creamy & smooth. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and had a kick but not overly spicy. I wish OOOOOH & AAAAHHHHHS were closer because I would definitely visit this place over and over.
