Scrumptious! I made a rum glaze instead of the cream cheese frosting. Brought it to the park it was gone in 5 mins. :

I love it. The cake is moist and has all the tasty ingredients that remind me of autumn. Nuts, apples and nutmeg. The frosting is delicious.
Anne, thank you so much for providing us with a real "keeper" dessert.

this was my first time trying to make this type of cake and i followed every instruction. it just seems to me like there is too much applesauce. i baked the cake for 55 minutes and it was still too moist in the middle while getting crispy on the outside. my bf, who has family that make their own applesauce cake, says the taste is right but the consistency is wrong...he doesn't really mind though, he says it's kind of like jell-o, haha.

Very tasty cake. Turned out really well and the icing compliments it nicely. Had to bake it a little longer than the recipe stated, but not really a problem.

Not sure why harmatafamily_1556714 was so negative. I followed this recipie the first time to the letter and it came out perfect.
tried it again with a little improvisation and again, perfect.
told my neighbor about it and she made a great batch too.
Anyone who generalizes as you have shouldnt be cooking. you dont have the temperment for it. You must have done something wrong.

This cake is awesome! Spicy, moist and perfectly balanced. The hint of lemon in the icing compliments the sweetness of the cake . It was not done in 45 min. but 55 was perfect.

very tasty! I cut my apples into smaller pieces instead of pureeing them and left out the raisins - it came out great. Very moist and tasty.
