Great recipe. Did take a little longer to bake (about 20 minutes, I checked every five make sure you tent these breads or they could burn (I noticed this during the show that the sides were almost blackened. I used a wooden pick to check and it kept coming out moist. I realized this was because of the massive quantity of chocolate chips. I found a spot where it was dry and took them out. I might divide recipe into three and send out as Holiday presents with my cookies. Might add dried cherries as well. (Note, so your nuts don't sink dust them very lightly with flour in a plastic bag before adding to the wet mix, it really helps

I made this recipe a couple nights ago. They turned out oh so good. (it makes 2 loaves.I shared some with my best friend, and of course she had to have the recipe. This bread is really good with a cup of coffee because it isn't real sweet. I also put lots of nuts in it,which just made the bread sooo much better. I will keep this recipe with my favorites, because I plan to make it quite often. I would really call it a cross between a brownie and a really good kind of pound cake. Thank you Paula for another great recipe.

This sounded so good, and looked so good, on the show. But, I also found that the nuts floated to the top while the chocolate chips sank to the bottom. Good flavor, but what happened? I'll just make brownies next time.

Sorry, Paula. I was ready to blow my diet with this bread. It was very bitter. The pecans floated to the top during baking, so they weren't all the way through the bread. Maybe using milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet would be better, but I would rather make boxed brownies next time.

    Paula,
I love your show. This is the first time I tried to make something that did not come out.
The bread stayed wet for about 2 hours and it came out awful. My son and I were so excited to make this but we ended up throwing it away.
I am not sure what we did wrong, but we followed the recipe. Perhaps too many chocolate chips. It had to bake longer because every time I put the toothpick in, it came out wet.
    Any advise?
    Debbi

It was so good! Easy to make! Just as good as brownies I thought, if not better in some ways. Gotta love Paula!!!
