Everyone loved this, although I didn't have exactly the right stuff: I used tomatoes cut into cherry size, (regular and heirlooms, I only had a sourdough boule which was really tasty, and I had to pinch in some fontina since 1.5 cups of parm was more than I had. All said, it's clear this is a really versatile recipe and you can't go wrong if you have to improvise a bit. Next time, I need to follow the salt specifications more closely though.

Fabulous! I served this as a side dish with fish as the main course. Everyone loved it. It's like a frittata with bread cubes. My friend, who requested the recipe, said it would be a great addition to a break-the-fast supper after Yom Kippur.

Wow! Brought me right back to Sunday dinner at my Nonna's house! Great authenticaly Italian flavors! My Nonna's entire backyard was a vegetable garden and she cooked almost everything fresh from her garden. She used to make a similar dish to use up day-old bread, extra tomatoes, basil & even zucchini. My 3 year old LOVED it and even my husband (who is NOT a bread pudding person, not to mention he had a hard time trying it at first because it was savory and not sweet ate every last bite on his plate! This was delicious! Grazie Giada! :

I guess my custard went to the bottom and it was an eggy layer on the bottom. But I can tell this can be a great recipe. What did I do wrong? Should I mix the bread cubes in the bowl with the custard to let it really soak up the custard?

Delicious. I've added bacon but only because I needed to use it up. Very tasty.

AMAZING! I was a little skeptical making something with the name bread pudding in it that was not a sweet, dessert type dish. I gave it a shot and I'm so glad I did. Everytime I make this for people they go back for seconds. My roommate, who had thought she hated tomatoes, could not get enough of this dish. I stayed true to the recipe and made it exactly as is. Delicious!!

I really like this! I don't think I changed anything and it was easy to make. We ended up eating it for a few days. Even my very picky husband who does not like "pudding" type things liked it. I just entered everything into myfooddiary . com and found that it's a little high in salt and in cholesterol. (from the eggs so maybe I'll use egg whites next time.

    DELICIOUS!
i made this for myself (vegetarian and my super carnivorous Godmother and we both could not stop ourselves. I used egg beaters instead of eggs and skim milk instead of whole and it was divine and practically fat free. It reheated like a dream! Merci, Giada. Je t'aime!
