I really love this recipe. Doesn't have a very strong beef flavor. Just add one package of dry mushroom gravy mix to the mushroom sauce and eliminate all salt. WONDERFUL, BEST EVER!

I thought the mushroom sauce was really bland. And I had to doctor it up alot.

Thought this was pretty terrible. Agree with the other reviews that said the sauce is flavorless and watery. I added some maggi and gravy master which made it just barely edible. The flavor of the steaks themselves wasn't awful but overall this is a pretty poor recipe. Definitely would not make it again. I can't believe a recipe this bad was printed in Food Network Magazine.

I'd never had salisbury steak before. The sauce was very bland. Added more Worcestershire and some vegetable broth. Hubby said it was fine as that's how salisbury steak is (bland but he said that AFTER I added the broth and sauce. Before that it tasted like slightly flavored water.

I replaced the water with beef stock. The noodles are very bland, wish there was a quick recipe for the noodles. I compromised with the noodles, when in doubt add butter & bacon.

I made the sauce just as the recipe said. I tasted it and thought o no this is flavorless!! So I started opening up my fridge and cabinets looking for something to add flavor. I didn't have beef broth but I did have chicken bouillon and a little more worcestershire sauce. It perked that sauce right up. My husband just loved it!! And I loved how easy it was to make.

I made recipe exactly as stated and found it flavorless. I should have read reviews before making it and followed suggestions of others and used a broth instead of water.

I thought the flavor was great. I used beef broth instead of water, also used salted butter instead of unsalted. I seasoned it also with a little garlic powder. The only thing is my gravy was not as thick as I would like, next time I would also saute my onions first before mixing them in the beef, just to soften them up a little bit. Overall good dish.

Good flavor, but I used one can low sodium beef broth and reduced the water. Bouillon cubes would be an alternative with the water. I thought the flavor addition was a must. I added garlic powder and a splash of sherry when I was finishing the sauce. I served it with whole grain noodles and fresh steamed green beans to boost the fiber and health factor in the meal.
