As a Marylander married to someone who loves to rockfish, I finally know what to do with his catch. This stew is incredibly easy and absolutely delicious. With a loaf of crusty Italian bread, my whole family gobbled it up! We kicked it up a notch by passing around crushed red pepper at the table.

Really delicious stew. I used cod because they did not have bass; added some shrimp and littleneck clams to the recipe and was thrilled with the results. Also used green onion instead of regular, and some crushed red pepper as well. Easy, healthy, and delicious. Going to use the leftover broth etc. over pasta tomorrow night. Will DEFINITELY be making this again. Makes a nice presentation also.

Pretty good. I added a few spices since my husband and I like a little kick: some cumin, chipotle chili powder, and oregano. I also used chicken stock instead of water and added a couple teaspoons of corn starch with the fish to thicken the sauce (the hubby believes liquidy soup should only be served when one is sick. Topped each bowl with a little shredded cheese and some diced avocado, yum! Next time I will make sure to dice the veggies; it looked nice with them sliced but they were difficult to eat.

Excellent, easy, flavorful. Wonderful winter dish. This is also an excellent choice for educating on the ease of preparing tasty, fun, flavorful fish dishes. Give it a try!

This was definitely a great meal choice!!! My poor boyfriend was feeling very sick and so I whipped this up and the flavors were wonderful.
I switched a few things up though:
Used diced red tomatoes -with green chilis-
    added chipotle pepper powder
used about 2 1/4 cups of water instead of 1cup
next time I think I will have to try adding potatoes
OH! And also, snapper was a good substitute in this recipe!
    Enjoy! :D

This was the first recipe I have tried and I thought it was awesome! Like mamananny, I had to wing it a bit also. The store had no sea bass so I used tilapia. I also added some shrimp because my boyfriend isn't the biggest fan of fish. I also added some red pepper flakes. Overall it was great and I will make it again!

tasty. i had to wing it a bit. I used cod, no cilantro so I used parsley and and I thru in a couple of small chunked up potatoes that i sautéed with the onions & peppers. it was very good. I'll definitely make it again and I'll try to use the right ingredients. I'll add some red pepper flakes tho. i think it could use a little heat.

Very tasty and easy! I agree that the cilantro is important to the flavor. I was not able to find the striped bass in my store so I used grouper and it was fine. Everything else I followed to the letter. I served it over rice to my family but I ate it without. My husband and 15 year old daughter licked their bowls! I will definitely make this again.

This was so fabulous, I registered at this website just so I could review it! I do not like green pepper, so I tried red, and I did not have sea bass, so I used whiting. Even with the lesser quality fish, this was so great. I served it over rice as the other reviewer suggested, and added Tabasco at the end, but only because I love hot. It doesn't need it. The cilantro is what makes this dish; I think I'll add more next time. I have never tried a FN Magazine recipe that was not wonderful.

This was an easy, delicious, and healthy recipe. I served it over some brown rice. My boyfriend loved it. I highly recommend.
