These cookies were tasty and I really liked the iceing, however, they tasted more like a rich sugar cookie to me rather than a gingerbread cookie.

The dough was absolutely delicious and mildly spiced. I also loved the icing. However, I had an impossible time rolling out these cookies. The dough was very sticky at the beginning, but when I added more flour, they became too dry and fell apart. I ended up having to roll them into balls and flattening them out, which still made a fabulous cookie.

These were delicious. This recipe was perfect! I put them in the oven right when they were turning that golden brown color and they were perfect. This is definitely one of the best gingerbread cookie recipes out there.

My dough didn't come together all that good either but overall I did what I could do and the cookies came out great.

Easy, but the dough turned out way too dry. Only got about 10 cookies out of a double recipe. Maybe I did something wrong?

Very easy and very tasty! Definitely will use this recipe every year! I have made the royal icing before and it works great with these cookies and sugar cookies!

This was easy to make and they taste just great. Makes a little too much frosting and you probably could half that part of the receipe. Will make these again.

this recipe made really delightful cookies. initially i rolled the dough out too thin and subsequently overbaked the cookies. they had a really buttery, not-so-gingery taste under those circumstances. once i stopped rolling the dough too thin, the cookies came out awesome. they were definitely sweet enough, though perhaps not spicy enough. next time i think i'll be a little more heavy handed with the ginger in particular. otherwise, this is a recipe worth visiting.

I loved this recipe. My husband is a big gingerbread fan, so I thought we'd try these out. I used a tiny bit more molasses than the recipe called for, just to give the dough a little more moisture, and it worked out great. I also baked it for ten minutes, to keep the cookies chewy. We used forest animal cookie cutters and they turned out really cute!
