Never had shucked an oyster or eaten one until I tried this. Watching Guy and McConaughey prepare the meal made me want to try it. Found web help to shuck. Lost a little mother liquor but all in all my taste buds enjoyed it immensely! This recipe was very easy to follow. I will be making this for good friends soon!!!!

OMG - I just made these for my husband and they were so good. He said he wants more tomorrow!!! I did not use the potato but they were awesome. So easy and my husband said he had never had oysters so good! That spicy mayo with the havarti cheese makes the whole thing. Better than anything we have ever had in a restaurant oyster wise!!! Thanks Matthew and Guy!!!!

On the west coast there are many different sizes. Extra large oysters are perfect for barbequeing. The oyster recipe is a keeper. Lots of flavour. It is quite similiar to a oyster rockefeller.

This actually is a nice spin on oysters rockefeller. Quite easy to make.

FN really needs to proof read the recipe/directions as preheating a grill is not needed.

@Jennylola: BBQ sized oysters usually refer to large or ex-large oysters. Also, the cheese + shellfish = no comment is your personal opinion. There are quite a few recipes which call for cheese and shellfish including oysters rockefeller.

Jennylola, I don't know about IL, but they sell large oysters in Cali... we get ours at the fish market.
