Made this on a Sunday afternoon for my husband and I and to possibly use as a baby food for my 9 month old. It was good. My son liked it after I pureed it for him. It is easiest to buy the crab meat already prepared, but NOT imitation. Ended up using puffed pastry that had already been sectioned off since this is what my husband thought I meant, and I do NOT recommend this because you'll need two to suffice the amount of chowder. Also, I recommend corn bread as an alternate to the puffed pastry. The sweet cornbread compliments the corn in the chowder well. Neighbors liked it and wanted the recipe too.

This was good but not fantastic. Quite a bit of prep, don't know if it's worth it.

Absolutely delicious!! I intended to at crab but since all I could get was imitation but I made it anyway. I actually used 1 cup of fat-free half and half and the rest skim milk (because it's what we had and it still came out really thick. It came together so quick and I bet it would be great with the crab.

This recipe rocks! I skipped the pastry topping as I had just purchased fresh bread. It was easy to prepare and the mustard gave a depth of flavor to the 1% milk that I cheated with. I used to add cream to my soups - now, I'm a 1% milk with mustard fan. Thanks Rachael.

I've made this recipe a few times minus the potatoes and with red bell pepper instead of the fresno chili. I also use corn starch to thicken it, instead of the flour rue, and everybody who's tried it, say it's the best soup they've ever had. It's an incredibly easy recipe to follow, and people request I make it everywhere I go.

Yum! This was really, really good. I, like a previous reviewer, used shrimp in the place of crab. (Mainly because it's expensive, and I couldn't find "REAL" crab anyway. But it was so tasty. Very nice and very easy.

I made for dinner with shrimp -to save $- and without the pot-pie topper. It was REALLY good and I had everything I needed to make already in my fridge and freezer. I swapped the fresno chili for 1/2 red bell pepper. My husband loves Old Bay so when we watched this episode on t.v. I immediately printed out the recipe and got to work! Thanks Rachael. Love your work!!!
