Very, very tasty and easy. I had to chase down the cardamom pods, but it was worth it! I think that next time I might use a leaner piece of brisket or maybe even a different cut (rump roast?, though, because my beef was on the fatty side.

I made this for Passover this year and again a month later. The aroma in the house was magnificent! I used the correct beer both times. The lst time I used ground cardamon and the 2nd I bought the caramon pods. (I now have a lifetime supply of cardamon pods! This brisket got rave comments from all our guests both times. It is beyond yummy. Now I have 2 fabulous brisket recipes and it will be hard to decide which to make. Do make this one. It is well worth it!

I made this for Christmas Eve dinner and it was fabulous. I used a porter--great idea! The sauce smelled incredible as it cooked and was complex and delicious.

I made this with a chuck roast and thought it was pretty good. The cooking liquid seemed a little bitter (could have been the beer I used so I added a little more sugar. I also added some potatoes and carrots at the end to make it more like a beer, ginger and garlic pot roast. My husband loved it and I will make it again

Amazing! This is a wonderful brisket recipe full of flavor, moist and tender meat. And I have to note that the gravy tastes as good as the brisket! Definitely a keeper.

I made all of the recipes from this ep for Christmas Eve dinner and it was wonderful! This was my first brisket. I loved having the jar of garlic and ginger in the frig ready to use.

This was a huge hit with my husband and friends last night. At first, a few of them turned their noses up at the idea of brisket because most of them have had brisket that was very dry and unappetizing. But everyone raved about this recipe being moist and the best brisket they've ever eaten. I didn't have cardamom pods, but I did have seeds, so I just used a tsp of seeds to flavor mine.

This is the first Aarti recipe I have tried and it was brilliant! I didn't have time to run out for the pods, but it was still full of so much flavor. This is the most tender brisket I have ever had and hours after the dinner was cleared off of the table, the house still smelled wonderful. You are a treasure Aarti!

WOW!! We had it last night for dinner. It stopped my 17 year old in his tracks when I gave him a taste on his way out the door. I've never cooked with cardamom before, the spices were wonderful. I used Stella for the Lager only because It was in the fridge. My family loved the flavors. We had brisket sandwiches this morning that were out of this world delicious as well. I am online looking at more of your recipes right now. Thank you Aarti for adding exciting new flavors to my cooking, and bringing the family together over a delicious meal.
