My first Aarti recipe and I thought these were really good. I love her take on the Lebanese meat pie. The toasted pine nuts were a great addition and provided the right amount of nutty flavor and accompanied the garam masala well in the mixture. A little olive oil on each is recommended and I would heed the instruction. I had 2 - 3 that I brushed a bit more liberally and they did not crisp up like the rest. With all the great flavor inside these were great by themselves, however, we thought a dipping sauce would go well with these, especially on Football Sunday as an appetizer. I served these with a small bowl of duck sauce - Wow!

Made these again last night. This time I used a combination of ground beef & lamb. Beyond yummy. And sprinkleing the kosher salt on top made them extra crispy. These will definitly be a repeat in our house! I now have a lifetime supply of garam masala. The jar is so big.

This was a big hit with everyone; it was extremely easy to make and had great flavor. I subbed ground turkey for the ground beef and doubled the amount of garlic. In my opinion, the only shortcoming of this recipe is that it needs a little pain. Next time I'm going to add a little pepper oil or minced peppers and see if the heat will this one of my favorites.

This was awesome! Super easy to make. Had never cooked with garam masala before so I didn't know the spice level, would definitely use a little more next time to add more yummy flavor. Very similar in taste to Lebanese meat pies but so much easier! This is going into my favorites!

I made these tonight...Meat was very tender and tangy, reminded me of gyros..The bottom piece of pita was pretty moist and soggy from the drippings. We added salsa and sour cream...Delicious, flavorful, yummm! Will make again, but will cook meat separate and place on after cooked..

Aarti, these are amazing. I am so happy you shared this recipe. I first tried these at a Lebanese restaurant that we moved away from and have been craving them ever since. These taste just like them!!! I followed the recipe and they came out perfect! I served them with rice and fattoush as well as homemade hummus, I can't wait to make them again!

Has anyone made these with naan? How did you prepare the meat?

We loved the flavors of this dish. We used thin pitas so the moisture of the mixture made the arayes too soggy when they came out of the oven, so we have to make sure to use thicker pitas next time around. Would still recommend making this dish!

My family ate them right up! I made them as the main meal and served the cucumber raita and some couscous along with it. I didn't have the parsley but they still turned out great! I have some meat left over and I might make meatballs out of it.

Great dish, the flavors were delicious. Now I'm addicted to garam masala.
