It was okay. I didn't use the anchovies because I don't like the fish taste from them in other recipes.

Excellent recipe. Very tasty. I added garlic to my dressing. Anchovies are a must.

MEH. I made it without the anchovies or chives, and used a different kind of lettuce. The combination of ingredients just wasn't very good. It was all a big mush. Not a salad I will be making again.

I made this salad to share at a church picnic and it was gone before the food line was half completed. Those who did have some raved about it and wanted 2nd helpings. I will be making this salad again.

This is an excellent crab salad. I did add the zest of 1 lemon and 1/2 small red onion, sliced paper thin. I also sprinkled a little grated parmesan on top as a garnish. For the dressing, you must use the anchovies as well as HELLMAN'S low fat mayonnaise, or it will be too sweet. As with any good caesar salad dressing, you won't taste the anchovies if you make the dressing correctly, (you could even add a garlic clove or two. AFTER I pureed the basic dressing, I added the chives and basil last, so the dressing wouldn't turn green. Delicious!

Good summer salad. Don't skip the anchovies -- I can see how the dressing would be bland without them.

I really liked this salad. I agree though that the dressing was lacking, mainly in acid. I didn't have anchovies, so I added garlic and about 1/3 cup of red wine vinegar. I didn't think that I needed 3 romaine hearts with only 1/2 pound of crab for a main dish salad, so I only used 1 romaine heart and about 1/2 of the dressing. I didn't use the croutons either, as I am gluten free. My husband raved about it.

It was ok. I made it with shrimp instead of crab. And I ommited the croutons to save on carbs. I also used fat free greek yogurt. I'd cut back on the anchovies and maybe add some garlic powder. The dressing needed something.
