My husband and I tried this last night and were very excited as it was our first Aarti recipe. It was great! We loved it. Only comment is that it definitely needed to cook covered for longer than 20 minutes in order for the squash and lentils to get to the right consistency. I left the lid on for about 35 minutes and the lentils were even still a touch underdone. But all in all, a great dish!

I thought this stew was unbelievable. I had to make a few alterations. I couldn't find yellow split peas so I used green. I didn't have shredded coconut, only flaked. I used water instead of vegetable broth due to allergies. Despite these little differences, my stew came out wonderful. It had a nice little kick from the red pepper flakes, but not too hot. Then there was a little sweetness from the honey. The lime added some great flavor at the end. I definitely recommend making it as is before changing it around. The only drawback is that I did have trouble with the mustard seeds popping out of the pan when they were heated, but I think my oil was too hot. I will be making this again for sure.

A very flavorful dish, I fried my cumin & turmeric in a little oil before adding to the pot. I doubled the dried chillis & doubled the mustard seeds (personal preference. Served with poppadoms it was delicious - definitely a keeper.

I thought this was a great recipe. I added extra garlic and doubled the spices.
I wasn't going to add the lime, but it does add a nice touch.

Fantastic flavor! So easy to put together. The only issue I had was the mustard seeds popped out of the pan and all over my kitchen, but maybe my oil was too hot.

The seasoning was great, but I could not find the yellow lentils... I used split peas instead. I also used an immersion blender at the end and it made the soup into a wonderful, smooth, consistency. Very comforting on a cold day.

Very good but I found that the cooking time is almost tripled. Took forever for the squash and lentils to cook down. Great meal though!

Directions are clear and easy; the result is a heart-warming stew that is well balanced with a gentle kick. The aroma and color are to treasure. I would like further information on ratio of carbohydrate, type of fats, and protein for individual servings. In the meantime, my tummy is very happy.
