Who knew that my husband would like this? He isn't a fish fan, and he said he would like it if I made it again. The only change was more wine.

Cooking fish kind of intimidates me, and I was worried that it was just too difficult to do at home. I hadn't really done more than just fish sticks until I happened upon the episode where she was making this recipe. It looked so easy and delicious that I just had to try it. I always walked right past the fresh fish at the store because I thought it was just too hard. But, I managed to pick out the fish just fine (by the way, where the heck did she find it at $2.99/lb? Mine was $8.99/lb!!. This recipe was SO delicious and so easy, I will definitely make it again. Also, I am not normally a fan of capers and I was dreading using them in case I hated them, but this method of cooking them made them taste great and I can't imagine the recipe without them!

I made the Fish Piccata and it was out-of-this world. The fist was juice and moist. The sauce was the topping that bind it together and makes it delicious. Even my daughter who is not a fish lover, loved it. I left out the wine and it was just fine. Thank you Melissa for sharing your Fish Piccata. Plan to make it again especially now during lent.

What this needs is about 1/2 cup of chicken stock in with the wine. It would take the acidy edge off.

it was just ok. the amount of lemon juice was overpowering the fish and the sauce in general felt like it was missing something.

This recipe is so incredibly simple and really flavorful. My teenage daughter doesn't like lemon juice so she serves herself a piece of the lightly fried fish before I make the sauce. My teenage son, my husband and I all really love this dish. One change I made -- I only use half a lemon for 4 pieces of tilapia. Using as much as the recipe called for was too strong for us.
