I LOVE Indian food but live in the south where it is hard to find a good Indian restraunt, kinda like good mexican food in Canada. I have made this recipe 3 times now and think it is better than any tikka masala I have had before. I do make small changes. I actually add onion and a little lemon juice into the garlic paste and use chicken broth in place of the water. But seriously best dish ever!!!! I also registered just for this recipe!

It's very tasty, but I used a whole chicken cut into 8 pieces and with no skin,I also doubled the amount of the spices because we love spices,I used the marinate sauce at the end,it added so much flavor to the dish.
    Loved this recepie.
    Thanks Aarti

YUMMMMYYY!!! I am VERY particular about my food, as is the rest of my family and this was a home run!! I did make some changes to make a healthier version, and no one in their right mind would know the difference!! I added onion at the beginning with the serrano pepper, I didn't use any butter (only olive oil, doubled the garam masala, used non-fat yogurt, and light coconut milk instead of cream...and whatever you do, don't forget the fenugreek- it really adds a tremendous amount of flavor (a bit of sweetness that you lose otherwise!! At the end, I added frozen peas and green beans to give the meal some bulk. Finally, serve over brown basmati rice....PRESTO, love on a plate!!! Enjoy!

WOW! This is delicious! So great, that I am actually inspired to post, which I have NEVER done before. I have been watching Food Netowrk and using thier recipes for years, but this is by far the best! I did make a few alterations, and not sure how much that mattered. I added a sliced onion in the first step, because I love onions in everything! And I doubled the Garam Masala (just know my taste preferences. I also used 2.5 pounds of chicken, as a previous poster wrote, and that worked well. It was soooooo tasty. The only issue is the time. It took me 2 hours from start to finish, so next time I think I'll make a big pot of it on the weekend and heat up during the week.

Incredibly delicious!!! I used chicken breast instead of thighs and broiled the chicken in the oven vs. grilling it and still an excellent meal. Also, next time I plan on using 2lbs of chicken because there seemed to be more than enough sauce for it.

Easy, tasty, new. I didn't have cream, so I cooked own milk and it worked well.

Love this recipe - wonderful. But I also made a healthier version, also really good. I used 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil and no butter and I substituted non fat evaporated milk for the cream. Also used chicken breast instead of thighs. Not as rich as Aartie's but really still very tasty.

Good, used chicken breasts, left seeds in Serrano peppers and still felt like it needed more heat and so did hubby. We do however love things hot!

This is such a great dish. I've made it quite a few times now and everyone always loves it. Even those not familiar with Indian flavors. Tonight I cut the recipe in half and added a shallot while cooking the sauce for a mild onion flavor. Instead of using heavy cream in the end I used Aarti's favorite full-fat coconut milk! This was sooo flavorful.
