DELICIOUS! I have never been able to get the consistency or flavor just like the restaurants' dish before this. My boys and my husband enjoyed this ... even more than the restaurant version. IMO, using the roma tomatoes instead of canned definitely makes a difference. So now I have thrown away all the other tikka masala recipes and will be keeping this one. Thanks!

I have been making Indian food at home for years but for some reason had never made tikka masala. Well, that ended yesterday when I followed Aarti's recipe. It was scrumptious! The ginger garlic paste was amazing - just the right amount of everything - which made the sauce smooth and flavorful. I used jalapeno peppers instead of serrano because they are milder and it came out with just the right amount of heat for my family. My husband, who is British and loves Indian food raved about it. It will definitely be a staple.

I followed Aarti on the Next Food Network Star and was so excited she won. As a fellow "brown" person, I was eager to try her recipes. First, I am glad so many reviewers are trying Indian food at home for the first time. It was a first for me too -- for this dish anyway -- and the ginger in the garlic-ginger paste RUINED it for me. I would definitely caution folks to go easy on the ginger at first try. That said, the techniques were easy to follow and demystified this particular dish for me. I will try it again for sure, but with much, much less ginger.

This recipe was a smash hit with my large family (6 kids, 13 & under. We are cow milk allergic, so we substituted canned evaporated goat milk for the cream, and goat milk yogurt for the regular yogurt. It was a smash hit. I also used my canned roma tomatoes from our garden this past summer, because we're in upstae NY and it's snowing. I didn't want to go 30 minutes to the store, so thanks for the tip that canned would work well too. I subbed chicken breasts because I had frozen ones, and the marinade made them nice and tender and not dry at all. I had the leftovers for breakfast. Now it's not the cure, solution for world peace, but you know, even my nursing 4 month old seemed more interested in nursing after dinner. He must like Indian spices, just like his siblings liked Thai food coming through in mother's milk when they were babies.

Fabulous heat and spice! Saw this show over the weekend, half-remembered the ingredients but knew I wanted to make it. Came home to get a quick run in and then to make this dish. What a treat. We love Indian food but have to drive closer to Boston to find restaurants. We won't have to drive so far with this recipe available. BTW brought the recipe up on the iPad first. Propped it up in the kitchen. The iPad goes to sleep too often. Had to drag out my lap top. Any solutions?

I was surprised to see only four stars for this recipe, I decided to read reviews and that's what confused me. 19 out of 19 gave it 5 stars. Why would it only give Aarti 4? I gave her 5 because every single person's review gave it 5, not 4.

I love Indian food, I have never made Indian food before...until now. This Tikka Masal that I MADE was the best Indian food I've ever had. I don't know if it's because the recipe is so good or we have crappy Indian restaurants, but either way..FREAKIN AMAZING!!!

Wow! I loved this!! That yogurt marinade is insanely good. I used Greek yogurt because I had it on hand, and I subbed in a can of tomatoes for the fresh. I could eat the chicken itself with just the marinade. But the sauce is kickin, too. For so few and simple ingredients, it packed a good flavor punch. I made a huge batch to freeze as individual portions.

I made this about 3 hours after the show aired and it was amazing! My fiancee gobbled it up and absolutely loved it (he doesn't even really like Indian food. I've never posted a comment on foodnetwork, but after making this dish I felt compelled to let everyone know how awesome it is! I substituted a can of diced tomatoes for the roma tomatoes and jalapenos for the serrano peppers. I also used nonfat yogurt instead of whole.....so good! A must make!
